  • Patent number: 4591002
Abstract: A shield assembly includes a transverse arm pivotally connected at one end to a bracket assembly fixed to a row crop cultivator rig. A shield tow strap extends rearwardly from the opposite end of the arm. The arm rocks between a horizontal position, wherein the tow strap supports the shield adjacent the row, and vertical position wherein the entire shield assembly extends over the rig completely out of interfering relationship with the row.

  • Patent number: 4465396
Abstract: An improved clamp arrangement for attaching a shank, particularly an S-tine shank, to a rectangular beam of an implement. A bracket is positioned against two adjacent faces of the beam and includes a formed end with a continuous transition zone which partially wraps around the front edge of the beam to prevent the clamp and shank from rotating horizontally. The formed end also provides increased depth of section to increase the bending strength of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4193458
Abstract: A hydraulic system is provided for an integrally-mounted agricultural implement which permits control of the tractor three-point hitch rockshaft cylinder, upper draft link hydraulic cylinder and lift assist hydraulic cylinder through a single valve control lever. One end of the double-acting lift assist cylinder is plumbed in parallel with the single-acting rockshaft cylinder and the other end of the lift assist cylinder is plumbed in parallel with the single-acting upper link cylinder. The fluid lines are coupled with a single control valve to permit the implement to be supported by the lift assist wheel and three-point hitch during transport, permit it to rock about the lower connection with the three-point hitch during transport and float vertically at the hitch connection during field operations while operating with the lift assist wheel elevated.

  • Patent number: 4128131
Abstract: A farm implement having a main transverse central frame and outer frames that are connected to opposite ends of the main frame to swing between transversely extending positions and rearwardly extending positions with respect to the central frame. The central frame carries a vertical mast on which is mounted a horizontal tool-supporting beam structure. A powered device is provided between the beam structure and the main central frame to raise the beam structure on the mast to thereby elevate the tools carried by the beam structure to a height permitting the outer sections to swing rearwardly and inwardly beneath the tools on the beam structure.
