    Abstract: The operating time of various equipment is measured with a sensor and a timer. The sensor detects something associated with operation of the equipment, such as air pressure at the exhaust of a pneumatic tool or a changing magnetic field near the rotor of an electric motor connected to a piece of rotating equipment. The sensor is activated when it detects the activity associated with the equipment, and the battery powered timer advances when the sensor is activated.
