  • Patent number: 6264496
Abstract: An electrical receptacle for electrical connection to insulated electrical conductors comprises a dielectric housing (12) including a first housing section (22) and a second housing section (24); first and second electrical contact members (38, 40) disposed in the dielectric housing (12) and having first contacts (38b, 40b) in alignment with slots (26, 28) of the dielectric housing and second contacts (38a, 40a) in alignment with openings (58) of the dielectric housing including insulation-displacement contacts; and conductor-moving members (16, 18) associated with the insulation-displacement contacts-for moving the insulated electrical conductors into the insulation-displacement contacts thereby effecting electrical connections between the insulation-displacement contacts and the insulated electrical conductors.

  • Patent number: 6102754
Abstract: The invention is directed to a bus bar contact having a body with two mating ends. One of the mating ends has a tab contact portion. The other of the mating ends having a receptacle contact portion. The receptacle contact portion has a plurality of resilient fingers for providing an electrical interface. The resilient fingers are stamped and formed from the body member wherein adjacent resilient fingers are sheared from each other thereby removing no material from between the adjacent resilient fingers.

  • Patent number: 5785548
Abstract: The invention comprises a power tap connector of the type for terminating by insulation displacement a pair of conductors. The connector includes a housing for receiving at least a pair of upstanding IDC terminals. A pivotally mounted conductor wire carrier has front and rear faces arranged on the housing. The wire carrier is pivotal from a first conductor unterminated position to a second conductor terminated position. The wire carrier has a conductor receiving opening extending from the front face to the rear face for each the IDC terminal. An IDC terminal receiving slot is in communication with each opening, whereby an insulated conductor may be positioned for termination to a corresponding IDC terminal within the opening by entry thereto through either the front face or the rear face.

  • Patent number: 5667402
Abstract: A wire carrier (100,102) for a NID module (10) for enabling termination of premise wiring tip and ring wires (22,24) to terminals (38,40) of the module for interconnection with circuits of the telephone service provider. Circuits of a circuit element (30) interconnect terminals (38,40) to contacts (36) of a jack (32) exposed for connection to a plug during test and otherwise shunted for in-service use. Each wire carrier preferably terminates both tip and ring wires (22,24) of a cable and is pivotable from a wire-receiving position to a wire-terminating position by a pivot section (104) to urge the wires (22,24) into slots (132) of terminals (38,40).

  • Patent number: 3956815
Abstract: An improved tool is disclosed for joining the adjacent ends of pipes, conduits, and like tubular members through the use of explosively propelled swaging members. The tool includes a jacket assembly defining a closed chamber having a die at one end thereof and a die assembly which is received in the chamber. Both the die assembly and jacket assembly are substantially cylindrical to encompass end portions of the tubular members to be joined. The masses of the die assembly and of the jacket assembly are substantially equal so that, when the explosive propellant is ignited, they travel at substantially equal speeds in opposite directions with the die faces travelling towards one another to effect a swaging of a sleeve connector on the respective ends of the tubular members or bell configuration of one member onto a straight end of the adjacent member.
