  • Patent number: 9684615
Abstract: One embodiment relates to an integrated circuit for a multiple-channel direct memory access system. The integrated circuit includes multiple direct memory access (DMA) controllers, each one corresponding to a different DMA channel. A channelizer receives descriptors from the DMA controllers. Fragmentation circuits in the channelizer fragment descriptors to generate multiple sub-descriptors therefrom, and the sub-descriptors may be sorted into priority queues. Another embodiment relates to a method of providing DMA transfers for multiple DMA channels using an integrated circuit. Another embodiment relates to a system for multiple-channel direct memory access. Other embodiments and features are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9053093
Abstract: One embodiment relates to an integrated circuit with a modular direct memory access system. A read data mover receives data obtained from a source address, and a write data mover for sends the data to a destination address. A descriptor controller provides the source address to the read data mover and the destination address to the write data mover. Another embodiment relates to a method of providing direct memory access. Another embodiment relates to a system which provides direct memory access. Other embodiments and features are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8900513
Abstract: Trays comprising a base have a plurality of axial slots adapted to receive buffer or other medical solution containers within the slots. A spring or other compression element at the bottom of the slot is configured to engage a plunger at the bottom of the solution container when present in the slot so that pressure is applied to the contents of the container in order to stabilize the contents while the containers are sterilized at an elevated temperature.

  • Publication number: 20120279179
Abstract: The pH of a buffer or other medical solution in a plurality of containers can be adjusted and maintained by partially filling each container with a sodium bicarbonate solution so that a headspace remains over the solution. The headspace is filled with gas having a known CO2 concentration, and a fixed and precise pH will result after the CO2 is dissolved and the solution fully equilibrates.

  • Publication number: 20110282316
Abstract: A device for delivering buffer solution into a buffer cartridge comprises a needle assembly and a pusher. The septa of a buffer cartridge and an anesthetic cartridge are advanced onto a transfer needle, and the pusher advances a plunger into the buffer cartridge to deliver buffer through the transfer needle into the anesthetic cartridge. A separate exhaust needle allows excess anesthetic from the anesthetic cartridge to be exhausted. A compression member is usually provided to maintain a force against the plunger on the buffer cartridge to pressurize and stabilize the contents during sterilization and/or storage. By delivering a buffer with a precisely controlled pH, accurate buffering of the anesthetic can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20110005958
Abstract: Buffer solutions within a plurality of containers can be adjusted and controlled by exposing the containers while open to a controlled environment. In particular, an inventory of containers holding bicarbonate buffers can be adjusted to a precisely controlled pH by exposing the containers while open to a controlled carbon dioxide environment in a treatment chamber.

  • Publication number: 20050054905
Abstract: An apparatus for use with a patient having a vessel carrying blood to ascertain characteristics of the blood. The apparatus includes a display module and a probe having a distal extremity adapted to be inserted into the vessel of the patient and having a proximal extremity coupled to the display module. The probe includes a sensor in the distal extremity for providing an electrical signal to the display module when the probe is disposed in the blood. The probe can have an antithrombogenic surface treatment for inhibiting the adhesion of blood components to the probe when disposed in the blood.
