    Abstract: A drug delivery device for setting and dispensing doses of a liquid drug is described. The device includes a housing and a dose setting and drive mechanism with a dose setting member and a dose setting drum. The dose setting and drive mechanism is configured to perform a dose setting operation for setting a dose to be delivered by the drug delivery device by rotating the dose setting member relative to the housing and a dose delivery operation for delivering the set dose during rotation of the dose setting drum relative to dose setting member the housing. The dose setting drum includes an array of encoder features at its proximal end. The clutch teeth and the mating teeth are engaged during a dose setting operation to prevent rotation therebetween and the clutch teeth and the mating teeth are disengaged during a dose delivery operation allowing relative rotation between the dose setting drum and the dose setting member. The clutch teeth are formed on an external surface of the dose setting drum.

The lock member having a first position where the lock member prevents actuation of the needle actuation assembly and a second position where the lock member allows actuation of the needle actuation assembly. The lock member is moved from the first position to the second position based on a pressure within the pressure interlock.

The housing element comprises longitudinal axis and defines an interior space for receiving components of a drive mechanism of the drug delivery device and at least a portion of a cartridge of the drug delivery device. The housing element comprises an engagement feature for axially constraining the housing element to a cartridge holder of the drug delivery device. In order to constrain the cartridge in the housing element, it further comprises at least one crush web protruding radially inwards into the interior space. The at least one crush web is angled relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing element by at least 3° such that when the cartridge is introduced into the interior space the at least one crush web folds radially outwards.
