  • Patent number: 5051540
Abstract: A component housing for an electromechanical component as an aeration opening provided with an insulating shaft formed by an insulating wall extending from the housing wall. The insulating shaft is open to the interior of the housing at an end lying opposite the aeration opening to form an insulating path between voltage carrying parts within the housing and neighboring metallic parts outside of the housing after the aeration opening is opened.

  • Patent number: 4958137
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay comprises a base member, an electromagnet system including a coil, a core and an armature, and a contact arrangement anchored in the base member and having at least one movable contact spring that is switched by a rod-shaped actuation element. The contact location and the attack point of the actuation element at the contact spring are offset relative to one another such that they lie a distance from one another in a projection onto the bottom surface of the base member so that the attach point and the contact location are prevented from lying above one another in all assembled attitudes that come into consideration and so that abraded material of the actuation element cannot fall onto the contact location and contaminate the contact surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4720694
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay has a coil member serving as a base body, an armature disposed in an axial bore in the coil member, a yoke at least one section extending outside of the coil parallel to the coil axis, a contact spring with a first section disposed on the yoke and crimped at an end face thereof in front of one flange of the coil member, and at least one further section engaging an extension of the armature. Movement of the armature causes movement of a further portion of the yoke between two switching positions in contact with one of two stationary contact elements. The contact spring is disposed in a channel formed between a leg of the yoke and a cover for the relay. A long free spring length is thus obtained while still maintaining reliable sealing of the contact chamber and a low overall height of the relay.

  • Patent number: 4689587
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay has a hollow coil having a magnet system forming a flux guidance loop in a circuit with a portion extending outside of and parallel to the coil, and another portion, formed by the armature, extending through the interior of the hollow coil. The loop is interrupted by a working air gap, which is slanted relative to the longitudinal axis of the coil, and which is completely encompassed within the interior of the coil. The air gap is formed by a wedge-shaped portion of the armature in registry with a wedge-shape pole piece. The slanted surfaces are longer in length than surfaces parallel to the coil axis, thereby providing a larger area for flux transfer through the air gap. Additionally, by slanting the flux transfer faces within the hollow coil, the overall size of the relay is not increased.

  • Patent number: 4135297
Abstract: A method of manufacturing injected-molded coil cores having connecting pins embedded in radially extending thin core flanges wherein the cores are formed in a mold having a parting line in the area of desired placement of the pins, the pins are placed into the mold at the time of mold closure and one of the mold faces is equipped with a projecting striker which engages and bends the pin during mold closure, the mold thereafter being filled with injection material which at least partially surrounds the bent portion of the pin while forming the flange embedding portions of the pin, including the bent portion, in the flange.

  • Patent number: 4045755
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay having a return pole piece, a substantially L-shaped armature and an elongated mounting spring for clamping the armature to the return pole piece. The corner portion of the armature is supported by an upper edge of the return pole piece, and the ends of the mounting spring engage the armature and the return pole piece for providing a clamping force, the line of which passes in close proximity to the supporting edge of the return pole piece to produce an armature resetting moment.
