Abstract: A system for monitoring the level of a fluid in a vehicle is provided. The system comprises a capacitance sensor configured to be at least partially immersed in the fluid. The capacitance sensor is configured to measure a first capacitance associated with a predetermined level of the fluid and a second capacitance associated with an actual level of the fluid in the vehicle. The system further comprises a processing circuit configured to determine the actual level of the fluid in the vehicle using the first capacitance and the second capacitance. The processing circuit is configured to receive at least one of an attitude of the vehicle and a temperature of the fluid from at least one sensor coupled to the vehicle. The processing circuit is further configured to compare the determined actual level of the fluid with a threshold level associated with the at least one of the attitude and temperature to identify a relative position of the determined actual level of the fluid with respect to the threshold level.
