  • Patent number: 10458399
Abstract: A precision additive dosing device comprising a liquid additive tank, dosing pump, filter, electric actuator, and pump control unit. Upon completion of fueling, the control unit is input with the corresponding volume of fuel just delivered. The pump starts until a time is reached that achieves the correct blend of additive for the fuel. The dosing pump delivers a constant volume of additive with time being the only variable to achieve the correct ratio of additive to fuel. Operation of the pump may be delayed or the time of pump operation may be increased during low ambient temperatures by the pump control circuit. Additionally, a heater may be used to heat the additive in similarly low temperatures.

  • Patent number: 7276723
Abstract: Alternate layers of wide band gap and narrow band gaps of different kinds of semiconductors are used to form multiple channels of a FET. The channels are doped or formed as 2-DEG/2-DHG in narrow band semiconductor by charge supply layer in the wide band gap semiconductor. The different kinds of semiconductors form heterojunctions to confine the electrons/holes in separate thin spikes layers. A number of spikes (3-10 nm thick) of different doped or 2-DEG/2-DHG concentrations in various channels can result in overall electron concentration gradient such as a 1/x3 electron/hole concentrations profile. Such an electron/hole concentration gradient can result in a linear variation of drain current with voltage to obtain a wide dynamic range.

  • Patent number: 6987306
Abstract: This invention describes an approach for monolithically integrating all the components of a photoreceiver—optical amplifier, optical band-pass filter, and photodiode module—on a single chip. The photoreceiver array employs unique optical amplifier and conversion technologies that provides the ultra-sensitivity required for free space optical communications networks. As an example, by monolithically integrating a vertical cavity surface emitting laser-diode (VCSEL) optical preamplifier with a photodiode receiver and related amplifiers and filters on the same chip, sensitivities as low as ?47 dBm (62 photons/bit at 2.5 Gb/s), along with an order of magnitude reduction in size, weight, and power consumption over comparable commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components can be demonstrated.

  • Publication number: 20050019159
Abstract: A blower housing for a furnace blower assembly of the type including a blower motor coupled to an impeller for use in expelling exhaust gases from a furnace. The blower housing generally includes an inlet, an impeller cavity, and an extension portion extending from the impeller cavity, the extension portion terminating in a circular outlet to which a round flue pipe may be attached. The blower housing is formed by three housing members joined to one another, wherein the housing members may be formed from metal using conventional stamping, drawing, and forming processes, for example. To form a variety of different types of blower housings having different outlet offset distances, only the dimensions of cooperating portions of two of the housing members need be varied, with one of the housing members used in common among the different types of blower housings.

  • Patent number: 6641424
Abstract: A squib connector that has a slideable locking element with a locking protrusion for engaging a portion of the squib connector housing in the fully locked position where the locking protrusions are thus outwardly biased into locking engagement with the squib and any tension on the cable or connector housing tends to splay apart the locking arms into tighter engagement against the squib locking shoulders.

  • Patent number: 5863214
Abstract: An electrical connector, for example for automotive airbag applications, comprises a locking device that has locking extensions insertable behind resilient latches of the connector to securely lock them when the connectors are coupled. A pivotly mounted catch prevents precocious insertion of the push button locking member by engaging a shoulder thereof. Upon full mating of the connectors, a camming protrusion of the catch abuts the mating connector causing rotation of the catch which releases the push button. The push button can then be fully depressed into the fully locked position. The catch has a spring member that ensures rotation of the catch into its initial position, when the locking device is pulled up to uncouple the connectors.
