Publication number: 20240371646Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of processing a substrate in a chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) system, comprises determining an orientation of a substrate relative to a first carrier head. The method further includes initiating a polishing process of a surface of the substrate engaged with a polishing pad. The method further includes scanning, during the polishing process, a first portion of the surface of the substrate repeatedly using at least one endpoint sensor coupled to the polishing pad to generate orientation dependent scan data of a property of the first portion of the surface. The method further includes comparing the orientation dependent scan data to a library of orientation dependent scan data to determine when the endpoint of the polishing process has been reached.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2024Publication date: November 7, 2024Inventors: Jimin ZHANG, Harry Q. Publication number: 20240308019Abstract: Exemplary methods for detecting substrate slippage include sweeping a first sensor and a second sensor of an in-situ monitoring system across the substrate as the substrate undergoes polishing with a rotatable platen. A first sequence of signal values from the first sensor and a second sequence of signal values from the second sensor include a signal strength relative to the thickness of the layer. For each signal value of at least some of the first sequence of signal values and second sequence of signal values, the method may include determining a first and second position on the substrate respective. The method may also include activating a slippage alert if: the signal strength varies by 30% or more from the first sequence of signal values to the second sequence of signal values, a position on the substrate for the second signal value cannot be determined, or a combination thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: Applied Materials, Inc.Inventors: Wei Lu, Yu-Chi Yeh, Kun-Yo Lin, Wade Chung, Harry Q. Patent number: 8935388Abstract: Systems and methods of automated event processing include at least one of notification extraction, development of event engineering rules, and testing. Notification extraction may include extracting notification information from the documentation. Automatic development of event engineering rules may receive and process each trap for a centralized monitoring system. An example embodiment would work with Netcool monitoring system from IBM. A set of software code or a software program may process and receive the alarms. Example embodiments of the program automate the implementation process for the code. The testing function automates the testing of the alarms. In an example embodiment, rules set parameters to test the alarms to ensure that the code processes the alarms correctly and as expected.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2011Date of Patent: January 13, 2015Assignee: Cox Communications, Inc.Inventor: Harry Tang

Patent number: 8134936Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for dynamically recognizing and processing service order types in a network management system. Service type data for a new service order type is registered in a database table while the network management system is operating. Then, a service order is received in the network management system and the service order is parsed to determine if the received service order corresponds with the new service order type based on the service type data registered in the database table. If the service order corresponds with the new service order type, then the service order is processed by the network management system. If the service order does not correspond with the new service order type, then updated service type data may be registered in the database table.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2009Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I. Patent number: 8068585Abstract: Systems and methods for checking broadband network components are provided in which an automated interactive system permits a field technician to check various conditions of a communication line or other broadband network components without the assistance of a support technician. While options to request assistance from a support technician are provided, the automated interactive system permits the field technician to perform various functions on a communication line without additional assistance, especially for routine tasks. The automated interactive system, therefore, removes efficiencies that may be associated with conventional approaches for checking broadband network components.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2008Date of Patent: November 29, 2011Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Scott Traynham Stillman, Scott Crandall Holt, Kenneth Wayne Chastain, Hong Thi Nguyen, Senis Busayapongchai, Lisa Marie Birkenberger, Judson Barry Johnston, Eric Duron, Diana N. Patent number: 7603462Abstract: A communication interface between an order generating program that generates orders and an order processing program that processes orders is managed. At least one metric that is based on orders passing from the order generating program to the order processing program is monitored. The communication interface between the order generating program and the order processing program is determined to have failed based on the monitored metric. The communication interface is then restarted based on when it has been determined to have failed.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2008Date of Patent: October 13, 2009Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Harry Tang, James Kelley

Patent number: 7440413Abstract: A system and methods to optimize the resource planning of ADSL services is provided. In an illustrative implementation, a network management system (NMS) communicates with an ADSL network to provision resources for participating users. The provisioning process yields a permanent virtual circuit (PVC). Included in the provisioning process is the creation and management of configuration variables, such as, the virtual path identifier (VPI) and the virtual circuit identifier (VCI). The VPI/VCI combination uniquely identifies each PVC. If the provisioning process is aborted or fails, it may be reanimated by the NMS using the VPI/VCI combination. In this implementation, the VPI may be set to a certain value and the VCI value calculated using ADSL configuration values (e.g. the physical connection position on a first, second, third, etc. ADSL network component.) The deterministic nature of the VPI and VCI configuration variables assist the NMS to track and optimize available resources.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2001Date of Patent: October 21, 2008Assignee: BellSouth Intellectual Property CorporationInventor: Harry Tang

Patent number: 7272141Abstract: A connection management system (CMS) serializes bulk virtual circuit connection requests made to a connection creation system (CCS) that is responsible for establishing virtual connections between one or more end users and an ISP. The CMS uses a set of serialization parameters to evaluate a set of conditions. The results of the evaluations are used to serialize sending bulk virtual circuit connection requests to the CCS for provisioning. In effect, the sending of a bulk virtual circuit connection request is delayed until a prior bulk virtual circuit connection request completes, whether successfully or unsuccessfully. In addition, a bulk virtual circuit connection request can be re-submitted in the event of a failed prior request or a prior request that remains pending for an unexpectedly long duration.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2002Date of Patent: September 18, 2007Assignee: AT&T BLS Intellectual Property, Inc.Inventor: Harry Tang
