Abstract: The present invention pertains to bonding an edge banding to the edge of wood or wood composite furniture by using a co-extruded dual compound polypropylene edge band that contains a main body of polypropylene and a primerless EVA backing layer. The edge of the wood or wood composite material is bonded to a polypropylene edge band by an EVA-based glue applied by an edge banding machine at the point of furniture manufacture. Bonding between the edge band and composite wood material is achieved without the use of a primer.
