  • Patent number: 6962163
Abstract: A liquid level control apparatus for a flush tank includes a valve mechanism communicating with a fill tube and operable between open and closed conditions, two floats, at least one of which is coupled to the valve mechanism for closing it when the at least one float reaches a predetermined height, and structure interconnecting the floats so as to substantially prevent their vertical movement until a predetermined liquid level is reached corresponding to the predetermined height, thereby causing sudden movement of the at least one float to the predetermined height and sudden closing of the valve.

  • Patent number: 6754981
Abstract: A footwear structure includes an outsole having outwardly projecting heel and metatarsal bulges joined by a resticted channel, the bulges and channel all opening at an interior surface of the outsole. A flexible bladder is disposed against the interior surface of the outsole and has a generally horseshoe-shaped pocket straddling the heel cavity of the outsole and a pair of matatarsal pockets respective disposed upon opposite lateral sides of the metatarsal cavity of the outsole, the ends of the bladder heel pocket being respectively joined to the metatarsal pockets by restricted passageways to from a closed fluid-containing system. The bladder pockets are respectively accommodated in recesses in an inner surface of a midsole which is secured to the interior surface of the outsole for closing the outsole cavities and restricted channel to form another closed fluid-containing system.

  • Patent number: 6539973
Abstract: A flush valve assembly includes a resilient pinch tube disposed in a conduit between a pressurized water source and a toilet flush tank and is pinched closed by a piston disposed in a cylinder formed in a bracket mounted on the conduit. The piston is engageable by a float which moves it between closed and open positions with changes in water level. A tube connects the source to the cylinder. When the float moves to the closing position it closes a drain port in the cylinder so that water pressure in the cylinder assists the piston. A manually adjustable screw on the float cammingly engages a bead on the conduit to yieldably arrest upward float movement and provide snap-action shutoff of the valve.

  • Patent number: 6123099
Abstract: A liquid level control apparatus for a flush tank includes an upstanding fill tube integral at its upper end with a valve housing carrying a flexible resilient pinch tube valve member. The valve housing defines a conduit which communicates with a downwardly extending tube parallel to the fill tube. A float has portions respectively receiving the fill tube and the downwardly extending tube therethrough so that the float slides vertically along the tubes as the water level in the tank varies. In one embodiment, an actuator rib on the float fits in a slot in the housing to directly engage the pinch tube valve member, and in another embodiment an actuator pivots on the housing and is coupled by linkage to the float. In the one embodiment an arresting flange on a resilient portion of the float engages an arresting flange on the fill tube for arresting upward movement of the float until the tank is full to provide a snap-action shutoff of the valve.

  • Patent number: 5896887
Abstract: A liquid level control apparatus for a flush tank includes an upstanding fill tube integral at its upper end with a valve housing carrying a flexible resilient pinch tube valve member and a pivoting actuator engageable with the pinch tube for opening and closing the valve. The valve housing is fixed to a head member defining a conduit which communicates with a downwardly extending tube parallel to the fill tube. A float has cylindrical portions respectively receiving the fill tube and the downwardly extending tube therethrough so that the float can slide upwardly and downwardly along the tubes as the water level in the tank varies. The actuator is pivotally connected to a linkage which extends outwardly through an aperture in the float and is pivotally connected to the float externally thereof. In one embodiment the aperture defines cam surfaces which engage the linkage to operate the actuator.

  • Patent number: 5664341
Abstract: A shoe sole and heel construction is provided. The construction includes a structure having an exterior ground-contacting surface, a flexible bulge formed in the structure and projecting from the exterior ground-contacting surface for contact with the ground in use and defining a first pocket. The construction also includes a second resiliently expansible pocket formed in the structure and disposed to avoid contact with the ground in use and a passageway formed in the structure and communicating with each of the first and second pockets. Fluid is permanently confined in a space jointly defined by the pockets and the passageway whereby when an external force is applied to the bulge, fluid is forced from the first pocket through the passageway to expand the second pocket and when the external force is removed, the expanded second pocket resiliently forces fluid back to the first pocket.
