    Abstract: A pursing ring used by fishing boats and ships that purse fishing nets up to a mile in length. The purse ring has a roller that cuts down on friction and wear on the cable passing through the purse ring. The purse ring has structure which allows the cable to be laterally passed through one of the arms of the purse ring rather than threading it through its closed loop structure.
