  • Patent number: 6322140
Abstract: A restraint system for moving a vehicle seat and occupant toward the vehicle floor. In one embodiment a fluid cylinder pivotally mounted to the floor has an extendable piston rod connected to a linkage mounted to the vehicle seat. A three point belt assembly mounted to the seat is connected to the cylinder rod. Retraction of the cylinder rod pretensions or tightens the three point buckle assembly and subsequently moves the seat towards the vehicle floor. In an alternate embodiment a displacement member including at least a flexible portion is connected at one end to a piston within a fluid cylinder and is connected at the other end to the linkage. An angle between 0 and 180 degrees is imparted to the flexible portion of the displacement member, allowing the cylinder to be oriented in alternate directions for space efficiency. Retraction of the cylinder rod tightens the three point buckle assembly and moves the seat towards the vehicle floor.

  • Patent number: 5286090
Abstract: A web adjuster and lock assembly for a child restraint seat has a buckle lock assembly which is operably coupled to a web adjuster. The child restraint seat includes a harness which includes a buckle tongue on one end which engages with a buckle lock of the buckle lock assembly, and includes adjacent its other end a tightening web which is received through the web adjuster. The buckle lock of the buckle lock assembly is movable between a rest position, a locked position, and a release position. The web adjuster includes a friction surface which engages the tightening web when the web adjuster is in its web engageable position but is movable to a free position wherein the friction surface is disengaged from the tightening web allowing the web to move in both directions with respect to the web adjuster assembly.

  • Patent number: 4807742
Abstract: An improved drag link chain is fabricated from a plurality of links joined together in articulated relationship for moving bulk material along a trough or other conveying surface. The links are made having an open end and a closed end. The closed end includes a barrel having a flat side for pushing material. The barrel is disposed within the closed end with its flat side facing inwardly from the closed end toward the open end of the link. The barrel has a rounded back side that seats on a tooth of a sprocket so that a joint of articulation is caused between an inner diameter of a bore of the barrel and an outer diameter of a pin that joins together open and closed ends of tandemly connected links to form an endless drag chain. The barrels of the links, when engaged by teeth of a sprocket are seated thereon with no relative rotation therebetween and thereby avoid excessive wear on the barrels and the teeth of the sprocket.

  • Patent number: 4271663
Abstract: Adjacent links of a chain are releasably locked together by a pin, which is inserted through the pivot joints of the chain. The pin has spaced apart shoulders which engage the outer surfaces of the outer links at the pivot joints when the pin is fully inserted in the links. The pin has a front end which is compressible to permit passage of the forward locking shoulder through the inner and outer links of the chain.

  • Patent number: 4143512
Abstract: A chain has alternately arranged center links and sidebars that are interconnected by pins of a predetermined diameter. An elongated opening is provided in each center link for receiving two pins. Adjacent each end of the elongated opening, lugs project from the center link to restrict the opening opposite the lug to a transverse dimension less than the pin diameter. Each lug is spaced from an adjacent opening end by a distance enabling one pin to fit between the adjacent opening end and the lug. Each pin has a transverse groove for receiving one of the lugs when the pin is in a predetermined rotational angular relationship with the center link. Thus, the pins can be moved past the lugs, in directions to and from the adjacent ends of the elongated openings, when the pins are in the predetermined rotational angular relationship for assembly or disassembly of the chain. The lugs prevent collapsing of the chain when the predetermined rotational angular relationship is not maintained.
