  • Patent number: 8340839
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided of displaying air traffic control communication information in an aircraft having an aircraft communications radio. Each air traffic control (ATC) communication station that is within a predetermined distance of an aircraft position is identified. Indicia representative of the identified ATC communication stations that are determined to be within the range of the aircraft communications radio are rendered on a display device.

  • Publication number: 20100106346
Abstract: Method and systems for managing flight plan data associated with an aircraft are provided. A list of navigational entry selections (e.g., flight plan origins and flight plan destinations) is generated. Each of the navigational entry selections is associated with the aircraft (e.g., previously used). The list of navigational entry selections is displayed to a user of the aircraft. An indication of a selection of at least one of the navigational entry selections is received from the user. The navigational entry selections are generated, for example, based on navigational entries previously stored in a memory on-board the aircraft, a location of the aircraft, or a combination of the previous navigational entries and the location of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20100070110
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for indicating on a display device whether a vehicle has sufficient fuel remaining to travel from a first location to a second location. An exemplary method involves determining the amount of fuel required for the vehicle to travel from the first location to the second location. If the amount of fuel required is greater than a threshold fuel value associated with the first location, the method displays a graphical representation of the second location on the display device using a first visually distinguishable characteristic. If the first amount of fuel is less than the threshold fuel value, the method displays the graphical representation of the second location on the display device using a second visually distinguishable characteristic.
