Patent number: 9454203Abstract: An information handling system is powered by a battery. In response to determining that a remaining amount of power within the battery has fallen below a first threshold, power consumption of the information handling system is reduced by reducing at least one non-critical operation of the information handling system, while maintaining at least one critical operation of the information handling system. After reducing the at least one non-critical operation, it is increased in response to determining that the remaining amount of power within the battery has risen above a second threshold.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2012Date of Patent: September 27, 2016Assignee: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Erick D. Publication number: 20150188838Abstract: In a classroom, students may bring their own electronic devices and use them to augment classroom instruction by connecting to a classroom network and interacting with various network resources. During certain periods of time, such as testing or pop quizzes, a teacher may assure that students do not cheat by accessing network resources by sending a command to each student device to block access to the classroom network. At the end of the time period, a command may be provided to allow the student devices to again access the network.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2013Publication date: July 2, 2015Inventors: Rishi Bhattacharya, Harshal S. Patent number: 8306031Abstract: A method of performing wireless communications. The method receives at a receiving unit a sequence of data blocks from a transmitting unit. The method also identifies at the receiving unit a first number of invalid sequential data blocks in the sequence and a second number of valid sequential data blocks in the sequence. The method also communicates from the receiving unit a wireless message to the transmitting unit. The wireless message comprises a first field that specifies the first number and a second field that specifies the second number—the encoding of the first field is operable to specify a different maximum than an encoding of the second field.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2008Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventors: Harshal S. Patent number: 8130653Abstract: Network circuitry and a method of operating the same in establishing and deleting a service flow in a wireless network. A network station receives a request, from an initiating network station, to establish a service flow. The network station receiving the request issues a response to that request, following which it expects an acknowledgement from the initiator. Upon absence of such an acknowledgement, the receiving station transmits a message, to the initiator, to explicitly delete the service flow. This ensures that the initiator is not placed into an ambiguous state of transmitting payload traffic to a receiver that is ignoring or not receiving that traffic, in the case in which the initiator is also the transmitter of the payload traffic. This circuitry and method also ensures that the initiator is not in an ambiguous state, in the case in which it is the intended receiver of the payload traffic.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2008Date of Patent: March 6, 2012Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventors: Harshal S. Chhaya, Ramanuja Vedantham

Publication number: 20110317719Abstract: A system for communicating protocol layer processing information is disclosed herein. A transmitter includes a protocol layer header generator that generators a header for a first protocol data unit. The header generator provides a first header comprising a first sequence number field that determines the order in which a receiving entity present the first data unit to higher protocol layer. The sequence number field varies in length. A receiver includes a protocol layer header parser that parses a header of a first protocol data unit. The header parser parses a first header comprising a first sequence number field that determines the order in which the first data unit is presented to a higher protocol layer. The sequence number field varies in length.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2011Publication date: December 29, 2011Applicant: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Ramanuja Vedantham, Shantanu Kangude, Harshal S.
