  • Patent number: 5586869
Abstract: A pressure governor for a pump (11) employed as a variable displacement pump for supplying pressurized fluid to a hydraulic power consumer (54) is disclosed. The governor includes a differential pressure regulator (13) connected to the pump for establishing the output flow of the pump. The state of the regulator is controlled by a pressure-regulated valve (21). Valve (21) is, in its initial state, set so as to allow a high volumetric flow out of the pump. A portion of the flow out of the pump returned to the pressure regulated valve to force the valve into a second state. The movement of the valve into the second state resets the valve so that a portion of the output of the pump is applied to the pressure regulator. This flow, in turn, causes the regulator to reduce the output flow from the pump. Thus, the initial output flow of the pump is reduced so as to minimize the possibility that large sustained output flows will damage the components of the hydraulic power consumer to which the flow is applied.

  • Patent number: 5421705
Abstract: An overload protection device for a drive motor of a pressure generator is provided including an auxiliary pump, flow resistance devices, and a pressure-controlled valve. The drive motor drives the main pump of the pressure generator, whose output flow rate is stabilized by a hydraulic regulating valve, which senses the pressure of the output flow of the main pump. The auxiliary pump is also driven by the drive motor and generates an output flow rate proportional to the rotational speed of the drive motor. An auxiliary hydraulic circuit, including the first and second flow resistance devices connected in series, connects the auxiliary pump to the tank of the hydraulic pressure generator. The pressure-controlled valve includes a control chamber connected with a tapping point in the auxiliary hydraulic circuit for sensing the output flow of the auxiliary pump.

  • Patent number: 5360321
Abstract: A feeding reservoir for a two-cylinder pump is provided for the pressurized delivery of thick matter. The feeding reservoir includes a material supply port, a front wall having two pump-side ports therein, and a back wall opposite the front wall having two outlet-side ports therein. The pump-side ports lead to the delivery cylinders of the pump, and the outlet-side ports lead to delivery lines. The outlet-side ports are each positioned diametrically opposite to a respective pump-side port, forming two port pairs. A swing pipe is positioned in the reservoir capable of swivelling alternately between one port pair to the other port pair to place the outlet-side port of a port pair in communication with the pump-side port of the port pair. The swing pipe is a straight through-way pipe. Self-adjusting sealing and wearing rings are positioned between the ends of the swing pipe and the pump-side and outlet-side ports for being pressed against the ports under delivery pressure.

  • Patent number: 5344290
Abstract: A method and device for controlling a thick matter pump having two feed cylinders, each coupled to a material feed tank and including a drive piston for pumping thick matter through the respective feed cylinder. Each drive piston is driven within a respective drive cylinder coupled to a hydraulic reversing pump, which drives each drive piston through a compression stroke by pumping pressurized fluid to the respective drive cylinder. A hydraulically operable tube switch is alternately coupled to the feed cylinders to receive the thick matter being pumped, and is coupled to a delivery pipe to direct the flow of thick matter from each feed cylinder into the delivery pipe. Hydraulic tube-switch cylinders actuate the tube switch and are coupled between the reversing pump and the feed cylinders for receiving pressurized fluid flowing between the reversing pump and the drive cylinders to decouple the tube switch from one feed cylinder and couple the tube switch to the other.

  • Patent number: 5340291
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying thick matter is provided including a delivery line, a thick matter pump connected to the delivery line for conveying thick matter from the pump through the delivery line in an output direction, and a restraining member positioned in the delivery line. The restraining member includes a first group of finger lamellae that are radially arranged and have openings therebetween. Each of the finger lamellae of the first group includes an end secured on the inner surface of the delivery line and an unattached end extending diagonally in the output direction and toward the inside of the delivery line. The finger lamella thereby define a pass-through opening therein for enabling flow of thick matter through the restraining member such that the pass-through opening increases in size when thick matter flows in the output direction and decreases in size when there is no flow of thick matter or when thick matter moves in a direction opposite to the output direction.

  • Patent number: 5302094
Abstract: A tube switch for a double-cylinder sludge pump is provided including a swing pipe, a wearing ring and an elastic member. The swing pipe is adapted to swivel in front of a center plate and includes an extension portion having an inner surface. The wearing ring is supported between the end of the swing pipe and the center plate and is axially movable relative to the swing pipe. The wearing ring has a recess formed at one end thereof, defined by a sloped boundary surface. The swing pipe is adapted to receive the end of the wearing ring including the recess therein. The recess thus defines an annular space between the swing pipe and the wearing ring with the inner surface of the extension portion of the swing pipe facing the annular space. The elastic member includes a radial inner surface and a sloped front end surface that corresponds to the boundary surface of the wearing ring. The elastic member is supported between the swing pipe and the wearing ring within the annular space.

  • Patent number: 5238371
Abstract: A control system for a pump for thick materials in which the pump has a hydropump with a delivery-volume regulator for adjusting the delivery volume of the hydropump in response to a setpoint signal. A baffle member is coupled between the delivery cylinders of the pump and a delivery line, and a reversing member is coupled to the baffle member for reversing the baffle member to alternately couple the delivery cylinders to the delivery line and to a material dispenser container. A sampling device responsive to the end of the pressure stroke of the delivery cylinders transmits an end-position signal for initiating the reversal of the baffle member by the reversing member. A switching member is coupled by an output to the delivery-volume regulator of the hydropump and coupled by an input to the sampling device for receiving the end-position signals and for transmitting setpoint signals to the delivery-volume regulator.

  • Patent number: 5209649
Abstract: A two cylinder thick matter pump has two hydraulic drive cylinders, two pistons supported and driven within each respective drive cylinder, and two feed cylinders. Each feed cylinder is adapted to receive a respective piston therein to pump the matter therethrough. A hydro-pump is coupled to the drive cylinders to supply hydraulic fluid thereto. A reversing valve is coupled to the hydro-pump to reverse the direction thereof. Two pressure switching valves are coupled to one of the drive cylinders and to the reversing valve to actuate the reversing valve upon a change in cylinder pressure. Two electronic proximity switches are supported adjacent to the pistons and coupled to the reversing valve. The proximity switches actuate the reversing valve in parallel with the switching valves.

  • Patent number: 5190449
Abstract: A material-feeding container is disclosed for two-cylinder thick-matter pumps having feeding cylinders that open into the container. Inside the container is arranged a switchable guide-tube linked to the feeding line and alternatively movable between the openings of the feeding cylinders. A cleaning and servicing opening that can be closed with a cap provided with an agitator is arranged in each side wall. When the closing cap hinged on the material-feeding container is opened, the agitator pivots out of the container through the servicing opening, making the switchable guide-tube and its wearing parts freely accessible from the outside.

  • Patent number: 5127806
Abstract: A thick matter pump has two feed cylinders, each including an opening coupled in fluid communication with a material feed tank containing matter to be pumped. A tube switch is adapted to be alternately coupled on its intake side to the openings of the feed cylinders, and on its output side to a delivery pipe to permit the passage of pumped matter therethrough and into the delivery pipe. A shutoff device is supported between the output side of the tube switch and the delivery pipe. The shutoff device is adapted to open to permit the passage of pumped matter therethrough and to close to prevent the passage of pumped matter therethrough in accordance with the difference between the pressure on the input side and the pressure on the output side of the shutoff device, which difference is adjustable by hydraulic or pneumatic means.
