  • Patent number: 6108921
Abstract: Scraper for determining the position of pipelines with at least one scraper body and on the outer circumference of the latter are provided support elements for guiding in the pipeline, the scraper body containing a gyroscopic platform, as well as supply and processing means for measured results, characterized in that the scraper body is guidable by a combination of support elements under a defined, constant angle with respect to the pipe guidance axis, whereof a first part is radially rigid and a second part is radially resilient.

  • Patent number: 5675084
Abstract: For reducing the coupling liquid carried along during the performance of a test run of a device for testing gas carrying pipelines, the invention provides an ultrasonic gas carrying pipeline testing method, in which an overpressure is produced in a space containing a sensor carrier with ultrasonic sensors and a coupling liquid defined by the pipeline wall and scraper sleeves. An ultrasonic gas carrying pipeline testing device with a sensor carrier and a scraper sleeve positioned upstream thereof and connected thereto is characterized in that a connecting line (24) provided with a pump (26) passes from an area upstream of the scraper sleeve (22) to an area downstream of said scraper sleeve (22).

  • Patent number: 4807484
Abstract: An apparatus for the measurement and non-destructive material testing of laid pipelines in the form of a scraper moved through the pipeline and guided on the inner wall thereof, has at least one circular support with sensors arranged on the circumference thereof and at least one pressure-tight casing, which has devices for processing and recording the measured values and the power supply. In order to ensure that the sensors are always at the minimum constant distance and with a constant angular position with respect to the pipe wall, the support is constructed as a cylindrical sleeve made from a rubber elastic material and is provided with an axially, radially and circumferentially regular profile, whose protuberances are located on a cylindrical envelope surface with a somewhat larger external diameter than the internal diameter of the pipeline and in whose depressions the sensors are arranged on a surface concentric to the envelope surface.

  • Patent number: 4769598
Abstract: Apparatus for electromagnetically testing pipeline walls of steel or the like ferromagnetic material which is equipped, for example with a magnetizing coil for leakage-flux measurements, can be extended for ultrasonic measurement which is inductively excited and inductively measured with regard to the travel time as far as a reflecting surface and back, in the disposed in one or more of the pole regions there is a high-frequency current coil for the transmission and/or reception of steep-edged waves which are inductively coupled at the wall of the pipeline. The associated method starts from a stationary magnetic field in which high-frequency current pulses are produced in order to initiate vibrations in the pipe wall through induced currents. The travel time of these vibrations to a reflecting point and back can be measured in order to obtain an indication regarding the intact thickness of the pipe wall.

  • Patent number: 4274553
Abstract: A spraying device for cleaning apparatus, plant protecting apparatus or the like including a hand tool connected via a conduit to a pressure and heat generator for providing a liquid or vaporous agent under high pressure. A switch lever is held in the on position during operation. The lever controls a switch, the activation of which causes a transmitter for electric or electromagnetic waves arranged in the hand tool to send a switch-on command to a receiver located near the pressure and heat generator. The receiver operates a switch for controlling the pressure and heat generator, whereby upon release of the hand tool, such as unintentionally in the case of a dangerous condition, the switch-on command of the transmitter is interrupted and the pressure and heat generator switched off.
