  • Publication number: 20030200969
Abstract: A gas mask (1) is provided with a sealing element (5) of a special shape. The sealing element is easy to handle for use with a plug-in breathing filter (4). The sealing element also provides good sealing against gases from the environment. The sealing element (5) of the gas mask (4) seals the outlet (3) for the breathing filter (4) all around and has a cross section that is limited axially by two parallel, flat, peripheral surfaces (51, 52), whose radial inner limiting surface (53) is concave, and whose radial outer limiting surface (54) extends axially from the outside to the inside first concavely and passes over in the middle area into an elevation (55) tapering outwardly in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 6394600
Abstract: This invention relates to a replaceable eye-protecting lens system for breathing masks that is easy to handle and ensures a firm and safe, i.e. gas-tight fit of the lenses in the body of the mask. It is the object and problem of this invention to create a replaceable eye-protecting lens system that provides a wide field of vision for the person wearing the mask and ensures a mechanically firm and gas-tight fit of mask body and lens. This problem is solved according to the invention by creating a replaceable lens system for breathing masks wherein a groove-shaped holding fixture 5 is placed on the rim of eye-protecting lens 1 which holds a fastening element 2 of the mask body and a locking ring 4.

  • Patent number: 6338341
Abstract: A protective breathing mask has a connector housing unit having a connector housing for accommodating breathing mask components. The connector housing unit has a flange-like collar extending from the connector housing. The flange-like collar has a connecting rim. A mask body made of an elastomer has a profile-reinforced portion defining a cutout for the connector housing unit and the profile-reinforced portion is shaped to match the peripheral rim. A clamping ring is provided for fixedly securing the profile-reinforced portion at the connecting rim. The clamping ring has a slot for holding the profile-reinforced portion. The clamping ring is shaped to match the connecting rim of the flange-like collar and has a connecting surface for connecting the clamping ring to the collar at the connecting rim.

  • Patent number: 5782235
Abstract: A combination of a first breathing connection of a gas mask with an insert which can be inserted into the breathing connection for connecting filters to the gas mask is to be improved in terms of the simple manufacture of country-specific variants of gas masks. The insert has a first marking field belonging to a first fastening means on a surface located outside the breathing connection.

  • Patent number: 5625902
Abstract: A protective hood (1) made of an elastic, elastomeric, gas-impermeable material, with a head area (2) and a neck area (4) joining the head area (2) with its top end (3), is to be improved such that good seating of the protective hood is achieved at different head sizes. This object is accomplished by the protective hood (1) being made in one piece according to the dipping process by means of a plate-shaped mold, the material of the protective hood having an elongation at tear greater than or equaling 600% and a modulus 100% of 0.15 to 1.3 N/mm.sup.3, and that with the protective hood (1) folded up flat, the greatest width (10) of the head area (2) is 250 mm to 340 mm and preferably about 287 mm.
