  • Patent number: 7105136
Abstract: In a method for preparing copper salts from at least one cupriferous and one additional reactant, the reactants are used to prepare micro-emulsions while employing at least one block polymer, the intermediate products obtained this way are mixed and reacted together so as to form a micro-emulsion. The preparation of the starting micro-emulsion as well as the subsequent joint reaction preferably occur either with ultrasound or in a high-pressure homogenizer. The copper salts obtained this way exhibit a particle size of less than 50 nm, preferably 5 to 20 nm and can be adjusted to specific applications through the appropriate doping of foreign ions.

  • Publication number: 20050159482
Abstract: In a fungicidal and bactericidal composition comprising an organic copper salt, the compounds are either of general formula Cu2+-2R? with a ratio 1:2 between the copper portion and the organic radical, whereby this radical has either the form Ot?—CO—CH(SH)—CH3 or the form Ot?—CO(CH2)2—CO—CH3 or the compounds are of general formula Cu2+—R2? with a ratio 1:1 between the copper and the organic radical; in this case, the radical has the form (a). The copper-organic composition exists as chelate or as Co a complex, whereby the copper ions are spatially shielded so that, in a slow release process, they are transferred to plants to be treated.

  • Patent number: 4614640
Abstract: Copper(II) hydroxide is produced by a reaction of copper oxychloride in an aqueous suspension with alkali hydroxide or alkaline earth metal hydroxide in the presence of a stabilizing agent and the product is separated and washed. To improve the stability of the copper hydroxide and to avoid a black coloring by copper oxide, inorganic silicon compounds which contain hydroxyl groups (SiOH) in the molecules or form such groups in an aqueous medium are added to the suspension. It is desirable to use particulate solid silicic acids or silicic acids which are soluble in water or colloidally dissolved.

  • Patent number: 4560702
Abstract: The invention relates to novel organotin mercaptides and their preparation. The novel organotin mercaptides are particularly suitable as pesticides. In order to increase the biological activity and to ensure that there will be no damage to plants, a sulfur-containing organotin compound which constitutes the active ingredient of a pesticide consists of tricyclohexyltin alkanyl mercaptide or tricyclohexyltin alkenyl mercaptide. The alkanyl chain or alkenyl chain contains 6 to 25 carbon atoms and may be substituted and/or branched. The substituent may consist of halogen or the nitro group. The active ingredient of the pesticide consists particularly of tricyclohexyltin octyl mercaptide, tricyclohexyltin-2, 2-dipropylheptyl mercaptide, tricyclohexyltindodecyl mercaptide, or tricyclohexyltin undecenyl mercaptide. The agent is used for the control of acarina and insects, particularly mites and ticks.

  • Patent number: 4404169
Abstract: In a process of producing cupric hydroxides, products having a high stability in storage will be obtained if phosphate ions are added to a suspension of copper oxychloride in an aqueous phase, the copper oxychloride is then reacted with alkali metal hydroxide or alkaline earth metal hydroxide, and the cupric hydroxide precipitated as a result of the suspension is washed and then re-suspended and subsequently stabilized by the addition of acid phosphate to adjust a pH value of 7.5 to 9. The suspended copper oxychloride is preferably reacted in the presence of phosphate ions in an amount of 1 to 4 grams per liter of the suspension and at a temperature of 20.degree. to 25.degree. C. and the resulting cupric hydroxide is stabilized with phosphate ions in an amount of 3 to 6 grams per liter of the suspension.
