  • Publication number: 20240003402
Abstract: Vibration damper, including a piston rod, axially movably guided in a work cylinder, with a piston, wherein the work cylinder is closed at the end by a piston rod guide, and the vibration damper has a securing device during an assembly process so that at least a length portion of the piston rod passes through the piston rod guide. The securing device is formed by a supporting ring that is guided axially displaceably in the work cylinder and, in the fully assembled vibration damper, assumes an axial position inside the work cylinder in a length region which is delimited on one side by the piston and on the other side by a base part of the work cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20230375068
Abstract: Damping valve device including a valve carrier having a circumferential annular groove in which a valve element, which can be changed in terms of diameter, forms a throttle point together with a flow guiding surface. The throttle point transitions from a through-flow position into a throttled position as a function of the flow rate of the damping medium, and at the same time the maximum widened position of the valve element which is determined by a stop is limited, the stop being designed to be adjustable.

  • Publication number: 20220333663
Abstract: A vibration damper having a hydraulic compression stop includes: a cylinder filled with a damping medium; a piston rod guided in the cylinder the cylinder having a first piston fastened to the piston rod and slidable on an inner wall of the cylinder; and a second piston arranged on the piston rod at an axial distance from the first piston the second piston being slidable in a pressure cylinder. The pressure cylinder is formed with respect to the cylinder by a separate plastic pressure sleeve having a bottom, and the bottom of the pressure sleeve and a coating surface of the base on a side of the base facing away from the pressure sleeve are connected to each other via at least one web.

  • Publication number: 20170175840
Abstract: A cylinder (1), particularly for a vibration damper, includes a base (3) and a sleeve-shaped add-on part (5) which at least partially surrounds the cylinder (1) and which has at an end of the cylinder a radially inwardly directed edge profile. The edge profile (11) contacts an end face of the cylinder (1) in a noncontacting manner with respect to the base.

  • Patent number: 7870818
Abstract: A piston-cylinder assembly includes a working cylinder, and a one-piece stamped and formed piston body which is attached to a piston rod, the piston body being axially movable in the cylinder and dividing the cylinder into two working spaces. The piston body has at least one first opening provided with a first valve for passing fluid when the piston moves in a pull direction, and at least one second opening provided with a second valve for passing fluid when the piston moves in a push direction. A circumferential surface of the piston body is formed with a shallow groove which holds a seal between the circumferential surface and the working cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20080202329
Abstract: A piston-cylinder assembly includes a working cylinder, and a one-piece stamped and formed piston body which is attached to a piston rod, the piston body being axially movable in the cylinder and dividing the cylinder into two working spaces. The piston body has at least one fist opening provided with a first valve for passing fluid when the piston moves in a pull direction, and at least one second opening provided with a second valve for passing fluid when the piston moves in a push direction. A circumferential surface of the piston body is formed with a shallow groove which holds a seal between the circumferential surface and the working cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5669597
Abstract: Self-pumping air suspension spring for a motor vehicle, comprising a roller bellows, which form a spring chamber, a spring carrier which consists of a cylinder and a piston rod (which piston rod can move axially in the cylinder, whereby the roller bellows are functionally connected to the cylinder and the piston rod), a vestibule with at least one connection to the spring chamber and at least one connection to the air reservoir, which can be of any appropriate type. In the event of a movement of the piston rod, there is a pumping action via the vestibule in connection with at least one non-return valve in the spring chamber, whereby the vestibule is located inside the spring chamber enclosed by the roller bellows and the cylinder. At least one of the components of the air suspension spring executing the pumping action is formed by the piston rod. It is appropriate if the cylinder is used in conjunction with a vibration damper which is part of an air suspension spring.
