  • Patent number: 7076383
Abstract: The invention refers to a method of resonance spectroscopy for the analysis of statistical properties of samples, comprising the following steps: a) recording of a complex resonance frequency spectrum of each sample by means of phase sensitive quadrature detection; b) numerical differentiation of the recorded complex resonance frequency spectra versus frequency; c) determination of the absolute value of each differentiated complex resonance frequency spectrum (=fingerprint); d) allocation of each fingerprint to a point of a multidimensional point set; and e) performing a pattern analysis of the generated points for characterizing the statistical properties of the samples. The inventive method tolerates unintended variances of measurement in the recorded resonance frequency spectra, in particular caused by phase errors, and allows reliable automated spectral analysis.

  • Patent number: 6993155
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for reading document entries and addresses. In this context, automatic reading is effected using the intermediate steps of layout analysis, classification of the segmented regions and interpretation of the results in a reader, and if necessary video coding. According to the invention, during the reading mode, when information has been clearly read automatically, the image data and the associated reading results and intermediate results, and/or, when information has been clearly ascertained using video coding, the image data and the reading results and intermediate results clearly ascertained in a second automatic reading process including the video coding results are stored for a current random sample. This current random sample is used to readapt the automatic reader.

  • Patent number: 4697294
Abstract: A resilient ramp structure for highways, especially useful as a highway speed bump has at least two ramp plates fixable to a highway surface. Each ramp plate has an inclined surface leading to a level platform surface which can be abutted against another such plate or to a flat platform plate. In the ramp plate, the inclined and platform sections are formed integrally. A reinforcing strip runs along the inclined portion of the ramp plate and receives screws to be affixed in the underlying material. Junctions between abutting ramp and/or platform plates are secured by pressure plates that are disposed in recesses at the corners of the plates and hold each adjacent plate to the underlying material.

  • Patent number: 4594021
Abstract: A marker block for divisions on trafficways is provided in form of an oblong prismatic body and includes a lower bottom surface, and two lateral faces. The block is made of an elastic material, preferably vulcanized rubber and especially recycled rubber, and has reflective means on at least one of the lateral faces especially a cat's-eye or a reflective foil. The block exhibits recesses in the form of passholes for screws, which allow a point by point fixation of said block.
