  • Patent number: 5601422
Abstract: A fuel feed assembly with a feed pump of the roller-cell pump type, of which the pump rotor rotates eccentrically in a pumping chamber has a plurality of rollers which are guided in radial grooves of the disk-shaped pump rotor and are distributed uniformly over the circumference. When the pump rotor is rotating, the rollers run, as a result of the centrifugal force, on a bore wall of an intermediate ring radially delimiting the pumping chamber. The bore wall forms a running track. At the same time, the rollers delimit individual sickle-shaped pump rotor and the bore wall and the volume decreases from a suction port towards a delivery port as a result of the eccentricity of the pump rotor. At the same time, there is provided between the delivery port and suction port in the direction of rotation of the pump rotor a narrow-gap region which, according to the invention, is made so large that the pump working spaces passing through this region are closed completely.

  • Patent number: 5283494
Abstract: The apparatus for feeding fuel to a motor vehicle engine from a fuel tank includes a pump portion and a direct current drive motor located in a housing part and through which the fuel flows. The commutator device of the drive motor includes commutator brushes located on the positive side and on the negative side; brush contact springs made from electrically conductive material located on the positive side and on the negative side, and a collector having a sliding surface for the brushes which are pressed on it during operation by the contact springs. To improve reliability of operation of the apparatus a negative potential is applied to the brush contact springs on the positive side and on the negative side and the brush contact springs on the positive side are electrically insulated from the commutator brushes on the positive side.

  • Patent number: 4808066
Abstract: In a device for supplying fuel from a supply tank to an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, which comprises a fuel supply aggregate having a suction opening and at least one pump stage, a degassing passage which connects a pump chamber of the pump stage to the supply tank opens into an upwardly extending and upwardly open channel which is formed between a cup-shaped element and a housing portion of the aggregate so as to separate steam bubbles from fuel.
