  • Patent number: 6304292
Abstract: A digital video camera includes an addition circuit in which an offset set by a CPU is added to an output from an A/D converter. A clamp level calculation circuit calculates a clamp level on the basis of an average level of eight pixels included in each line within a back end OB (optical black) level detection area in a normal mode, or calculates a clamp level on the basis of an average level of two pixels included in each line within a front end OB level detection area in a quadruplication mode. A first subtraction circuit subtracts the clamp level from an output of the addition circuit so as to clamp the output of the addition circuit. An output of the first subtraction circuit is clipped at a zero-level by a zero-clipping circuit, and an output of the zero-clipping circuit is applied to a second subtraction circuit through a low-pass filter, whereby the same offset can be subtracted from the output of the zero-clipping circuit.

  • Patent number: 6266106
Abstract: Liquid crystal for a right eye and liquid crystal for a left eye are not positioned in one plane, but are positioned to incline at an angle of 5°. To be concrete, both liquid crystal are inclined so that they become closer to the viewer's face as making toward the side of the face from the middle of the forehead. The inclination of liquid crystal as above-described to set the preferential direction of visual view of liquid crystal to be horizontal leads in that the direction by which the high contrast of liquid crystal can be obtained is toward the 3D display. It diminishes a phenomenon like cross-talk and allows the viewer to view the appropriate stereoscopic image. Liquid crystal for a right eye and liquid crystal for a left eye have the same construction. These liquid crystals make contrast with each other and then they are mounted on the liquid crystal shutter glasses portion. This makes it possible for each electrode to position in the center of liquid crystal shutter glasses portion.

  • Patent number: 5856845
Abstract: An imaging device has a photosensitive array, a vertical transfer CCD array, a horizontal transfer CCD, a drain region, drain gates, a drive circuit and a processing circuit. An electric charge accumulated in the photosensitive array is first transferred to the vertical transfer CCD array, and then transferred from the vertical transfer CCD array to the horizontal transfer CCD. The electric charge held in the horizontal transfer CCD is transferred to the drain region at a predetermined timing defined by to a slow motion ratio N. The slow motion operation can be changed independently of the frequencies of the CCD drive signals. Therefore, the power consumption is much reduced and a slow motion ratio can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5825086
Abstract: A ceramic lid assembly includes an integral metallized layer provided around the periphery of a ceramic lid substrate to serve as a foundation for a solder layer. A portion of the metallized layer for contact with the ceramic lid substrate is formed from a metallized paste containing glass frits so that the metallized layer is baked to adhere to the ceramic lid by reflowed glass frits. A portion of the metallized layer for contact with the solder layer is formed from a metallized paste containing no glass frits so that substantially no void is formed in the solder layer.

  • Patent number: 5808664
Abstract: A method of converting two-dimensional images into three-dimensional images by producing from a two-dimensional image signal a first image signal which forms a basis and a second image signal delayed by a predetermined number of fields from the first image signal and taking one of the signals as a left eye image signal and the other as a right eye image signal. It is judged whether or not a scene represented by the two-dimensional image signal is changed. When it is judged that the scene is changed, delay indicating how many fields are there from a field corresponding to the first image signal to a field corresponding to the second image signal is set to a predetermined value, for example, zero.

  • Patent number: 5784097
Abstract: A left eye image signal and a right eye image signal which constitute a three-dimensional image are produced from a two-dimensional image signal. The horizontal phase of the produced left eye image signal is shifted, and the horizontal phase of the produced right eye image signal is shifted. Character signals are respectively mixed with the left eye image signal and the right eye image signal. A composite image comprising the three-dimensional image and the character signal is displayed on the basis of the left eye image signal with which the character signal is mixed and the right eye image signal with which the character signal is mixed.

  • Patent number: 5740337
Abstract: A stereo-graphic apparatus has first and second imaging devices to provide a first image and a second image, respectively. The first and the second imaging device are spaced from each other to define a predetermined convergence angle. A distance detecting apparatus detects distance from the first and the second imaging device to an object for imaging. A first electric zooming apparatus receives a signal from the first imaging device and extracts image data of a predetermined area from the first image. A second electric zooming apparatus receives a signal from the second imaging device and extracts image data of a predetermined area of image. A control device controls the extraction of image data according to the distance information. According to the distance information, the extracting area is moved so that the focused object is located on the center of each of the provided images. As a result, the convergence angel is substantially changed according to the distance between the object and the imaging device.

  • Patent number: 5717415
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of converting two-dimensional images into three-dimensional images. In the present invention, a right eye image signal and a left eye image signal between which there is relatively a time difference or a luminance difference are produced from a two-dimensional image signal, thereby to convert two-dimensional images into three-dimensional images. According to the present invention, therefore, it is possible to convert the existing two-dimensional image software into pseudo three-dimensional image software to obtain three-dimensional images.

  • Patent number: 5699443
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of judging the back-and-forth positional relationship between subjects. Amounts of horizontal movement of the subjects which are detected for detecting areas set in an image area constituting a 2D image are compared after being assigned plus or minus signs depending on the direction of the movement, thereby to classify all the detecting areas into two types of detecting areas in such a manner that the detecting areas where a relatively large amount of horizontal movement is detected are taken as first detecting areas, while the detecting areas where a relatively small amount of horizontal movement is detected are taken as second detecting areas. A target area is set in a peripheral portion in the image area, to judge which of the total number of first detecting areas existing in the target area and the total number of second detecting areas existing in the target area is larger.
