Patent number: 4872091Abstract: A memory cartridge for use with a printer, a copier, a word processor and other electronic equipment as an external memory. A connector corresponding to that of the equipment is provided on one end of a casing which accommodates a printed circuit board, which is loaded with memory devices. A plurality of memory cartridges may be connected to a buffer of the equipment via the individual connectors. A grounding plate for making contact with a grounding portion of the printed circuit board is disposed on the memory cartridge close to the connector. This reliably connects the memory cartridge to ground. Further, since which one of the memory cartridges is selected can be determined, it is not necessary for the equipment to be provided with buffers and related circuits in one-to-one correspondence to the memory cartridges.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1987Date of Patent: October 3, 1989Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshio Maniwa, Takashi Morita, Masaichi Niro, Daisuke Abe, Haruhiko Nagayama

Patent number: 4674858Abstract: A photoconductive element unit for use with a laser printer or the like and having a belt-like photoconductive element. A main frame and a subframe extensible and contractible relative to the main frame support shafts which are associated with individual rollers over which the photoconductive element is passed. The shafts are constantly biased away from each other by springs. An upper cover and a lower cover cooperate to accommodate the whole unit thereinside. The unit includes slide members slidably supported by the upper and lower covers, loosening members for displacing the shafts toward each other against the action of springs, and grid plate support members.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1985Date of Patent: June 23, 1987Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventor: Haruhiko Nagayama

Patent number: 4575219Abstract: A dry process developing apparatus for a copier or like machine is constructed to prevent a toner from scattering inside the machine. The toner is transported to a surface of a photoconductive element via an opening which is formed through part of a casing adapted to store the toner. First and second screening means are detachably mounted on the casing and arranged to cover a front open portion between the surface of the photoconductive element and the casing of the developing apparatus as well as side open portions.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1984Date of Patent: March 11, 1986Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Satoru Tomita, Haruhiko Nagayama

Patent number: 4547059Abstract: An image-transfer-type electrostatic recording apparatus in which an endless-belt-shaped latent-electrostatic-image-bearing recording medium is trained over a drive roller and a driven roller so as to be rotatable therearound. The rollers are supported by a frame member. The latent electrostatic images are developed to visible images during the rotation of the latent-electrostatic-image-bearing recording medium, and the developed visible images are then transferred to a recording sheet. A device corrects the skewing of the endless-belt-shaped recording medium by moving upwards or downwards one end portion of the driven roller. A recording sheet guide member guides the recording sheet to a predetermined image transfer section on the surface of the developed visible image bearing recording medium.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1982Date of Patent: October 15, 1985Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Haruhiko Nagayama, Satoru Tomita

Patent number: 4483607Abstract: A recording system capable of detecting a deviation from a normal path of travel of an endless belt recording member trained over a plurality of rollers including a displacing roller supported at one end for pivotal movement and at the other end for displacing movement in a vertical direction and effecting correction of irregularities in the movement of the endless belt recording member. A guide member located above a side portion of a corona discharger for effecting transfer-printing of a toner image on a transfer-printing sheet in the vicinity of the displacing roller is moved in displacing movement conjointly with the displacing movement of the displacing roller, to thereby keep the clearance between the surface of the recording member and the corona discharger substantially constant at all times.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 1983Date of Patent: November 20, 1984Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventor: Haruhiko Nagayama

Patent number: 4364059Abstract: Ink is recirculated from a reservoir (624) through an ink ejection head (100) and back to the reservoir (624) while it is being heated prior to actual printing to purge air from the ink and prevent erroneous ejection. The heat (100) has a nozzle assembly formed of a thick glass plate (184') and a thin plate (190') of monocrystalline silicone which is bonded to the glass plate (184'). Ink ejection ports (191') are etched through the silicone plate (190') which communicate with an ink chamber of the head (100) through passageways (185') formed through the glass plate (184').Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1980Date of Patent: December 14, 1982Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventor: Haruhiko Nagayama

Patent number: 4346389Abstract: In a multiple charge electrode device for a liquid jet printer of the type in which a charge electrode unit, a shield plate and a charge sensor plate unit are overlaid, the charge electrode unit or said charge sensor plate unit has a single insulating substrate, a plurality of slots or notches formed along one side of said single insulating substrate, a plurality of charge electrodes or charge sensor plates formed by metalizing the periphery and inner surfaces of each slot or notch, and a plurality of shield electrodes each disposed between the adjacent charge electrodes or charge sensor plates. The shield plate is made of a metal or alloy sheet and provided with a plurality of slots or notches which are aligned with the corresponding slots or notches of the charge electrode and charge sensor plate units and are smaller in dimension than the latter. The shield plate is interposed between the charge electrode and charge sensor plate units.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventor: Haruhiko Nagayama
