  • Patent number: 4532876
Abstract: In an electronically controlled sewing machine having a memory storing a plurality of stitch patterns among which a desired one or combination may be selectively read out therefrom to produce the same, it is detected if a pattern designated to be followed by a lock stitch pattern and memorized accordingly in the memory is of a first type which includes the last stitch to be produced by initial data stored in the memory for producing the initial stitch of the pattern, or of a second type which includes the last stitch to be produced by the last data stored in the memory for producing the last stitch of the pattern, and according to the result of the detection, the sewing machine is operated to continuously produce the lock stitch pattern after the initial data has been issued from the memory for producing the pattern of the first type or after the last data has been issued from the memory for producing the pattern of the second type.

  • Patent number: 4480561
Abstract: A stitch pattern sewing machine utilizes a microcomputer which operates in a stitch control mode and in a malfunction diagnosing mode. Each mode is selectively rendered effective by a changeover switch. The diagnosis of malfunction includes a series of checking steps carried out in a predetermined order. Indication means are selectively illuminated to operate in either one of the two modes in dependence upon the position of the changeover switch.

  • Patent number: 4389954
Abstract: A plurality of different stitch patterns are stored in a first static memory. A second static memory memorizes a combination of these different patterns in a predetermined sequence. A third static memory stores basic needle position signals each specific to the patterns stored in the first memory. Calculating means utilize signals derived from the second memory and the third memory to determine values for adjusting the swinging amplitude of the sewing needle with a common variation rate and for setting a common basic needle position.

  • Patent number: 4181876
Abstract: The speed control circuit comprises a full wave rectifier having its output connected to an adjustable D.C. voltage divider. A series circuit connected to an A.C. power source includes an electric motor and an anti-parallel connection of two thyristors. The gates of the thyristors are connected to the output of the voltage divider via separate trigger circuits each providing a different trigger voltage proportional to the setting of the voltage divider. In this manner one or both thyristors may be selectively activated and the electric motor can be driven with half the waves as well as with full waves of the power source.
