Patent number: 6767311Abstract: A starting clutch control device controls such that the transmission torque capacity of a starting clutch (clutch torque) becomes a value required to transmit a torque equal to an engine absorption torque at the time of power-off running. A control of gradually increasing a clutch torque is carried out with a delay after an accelerator pedal is depressed during power-off running, to thereby prevent the occurrence of surging vibrations when an accelerator pedal is abruptly depressed during power-off running.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2001Date of Patent: July 27, 2004Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Mitsuo Kitada

Patent number: 5669280Abstract: A hydraulic control apparatus for a hydraulically operated vehicular transmission has control valves corresponding to hydraulic engaging elements provided in the transmission. The supply and discharge of hydraulic oil to and from the corresponding hydraulic engaging elements are controlled by the control valves. The hydraulic control apparatus has an oil supply passage which is connected to a hydraulic oil source and into which a throttle is interposed. The oil supply passage is connected to oil passages which are on a downstream side of each of the control valves and which are to be communicated with the hydraulic engaging elements. Check valves are interposed in the oil supply passage to allow for the hydraulic oil flow only from the oil supply passage to the oil passages on the downstream side of each of the control valves.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1995Date of Patent: September 23, 1997Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tsunefumi Niiyama, Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Kazuhisa Yamamoto

Patent number: 5630492Abstract: A support shaft is fixed to a casing of a transmission. A main shaft is relatively rotatably fitted to an inner periphery of the support shaft with a needle bearing interposed therebetween, and a clutch hub is relatively rotatably fitted to an outer periphery of the support shaft. An annular groove is defined around the outer periphery of the support shaft and divided into an oil discharge groove and an oil supply groove by a pair of weirs. An oil supplied from an oil passage is supplied to a canceller oil chamber through the oil supply groove and oil holes in the clutch hub. The oil in the canceller oil chamber is discharged through the oil holes, the oil discharge groove, oil passages in the support shaft, the needle bearing and oil passages in the main shaft.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1995Date of Patent: May 20, 1997Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Kazuhisa Yamamoto, Yoichi Kojima, Yoshihiro Kodama

Patent number: 4875450Abstract: An ignition timing controlling device for an internal combustion engine includes a reference position signal generating circuit for generating a reference position signal each time the rotational angular position of a crank of an internal combustion engine reaches a reference angular position. A pressure indicating signal generating circuit generates a pressure indicating signal indicative of an internal pressure of a combustion chamber of the engine. A peak detecting circuit generates a pressure indicating peak value, a position signal indicative of a maximum peak value and a position of the pressure indicating signal after generation of a reference position signal until generation of a next reference position signal. An ignition instructing circuit is provided for instructing ignition at an ignition angle corresponding to the pressure indicating peak value and the position signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1988Date of Patent: October 24, 1989Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Makoto Kawai

Patent number: 4846128Abstract: An ignition timing control system for an internal combustion engine which controls the ignition timing for one engine cycle in response to the maximum peak position datum of the indicative pressure signal representing the inner pressure within the combustion chamber during the preceding engine cycle. A misfire detecting means is provided which produces a misfire detection signal upon incomplete combustion in the combustion chamber in an engine cycle. The maximum peak position datum is neglected during the engine cycle in which the misfire detection signal appears. At least one pressure sensor is provided for one cylinder in a group of the cylinders having generally the same charging efficiency or volumetric efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1986Date of Patent: July 11, 1989Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shizuo Yagi, Yoshiaki Hirosawa, Makoto Kawai, Yorihisa Yamamoto, Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Kenichi Nakamura

Patent number: 4748952Abstract: An ignition timing control system for an internal combustion controls the ignition timing in dependence upon an indicative pressure signal representing changes of the inner pressure within the combustion chamber of the engine. The ignition timing control system ceases the feed-back control based on the indicative pressure signal but performs an open loop control under predetermined engine operational conditions.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1986Date of Patent: June 7, 1988Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shizuo Yagi, Yoshiaki Hirosawa, Makoto Kawai, Yorihisa Yamamoto, Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Kenichi Nakamura

Patent number: 4745902Abstract: An ignition timing control method for an internal combustion engine which controls the ignition timing of the engine in response to the indicative pressure signal representing the inner pressure of the combustion chamber while keeping the maximum peak position of the indicative pressure signal around a target position or zone. The target position or zone is regulated in accordance with one or more engine parameters.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1986Date of Patent: May 24, 1988Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shizuo Yagi, Yoshiaki Hirosawa, Makoto Kawai, Yorihisa Yamamoto, Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Kenichi Nakamuna

Patent number: 4741310Abstract: An ignition timing control system for an internal combustion chamber includes means for holding a maximum peak position signal of an indicative pressure signal at each engine cycle, means for picking up the held maximum peak position data signal, and means for establishing a suitable ignition angle for keeping the ignition timing to a target optimum ignition timing on the basis of the picked-up maximum peak position signal. The pick-up period is restricted within a narrow crank angle region in which any appreciable level of noises will not be expected in the indicative pressure signal. The narrow crank angle region is defined precisely by counting clock or timing pulses produced therein up to a predetermined number or by supervising the variation in level of the indicative pressure signal.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1986Date of Patent: May 3, 1988Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shizuo Yagi, Yoshiaki Hirosawa, Makoto Kawai, Yorihisa Yamamoto, Haruhiko Yoshikawa, Kenichi Nakamura
