  • Patent number: 10873692
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus includes an image pickup element, an optical filter, a filter driver configured to insert and to eject the optical filter into and from an optical path between the optical system and the image sensor, and a controller configured to search for an in-focus position based on the image pickup signal and to control a position of the focus lens based on a result of a search. The controller determines whether the focus lens is to move by a first amount after the optical filter moves from one of the position on the optical path and the position outside the optical path to the other, and before the search starts, based on a difference between an in-focus position when the optical filter is disposed on the optical path and an in-focus position when the optical filter is not disposed on the optical path.

  • Patent number: 9438783
Abstract: An automatic tracking control apparatus for a camera apparatus having a panning or tilting function, comprising an object recognition unit to recognize an object in picked-up image, a tracking object setting unit to set the recognized object as tracking object, an output position setting unit to set a position in the image for outputting the image of the tracking object, a control computing unit to output drive signal to locate the tracked object at the output position, and an image output unit to output an image in which an indication of the tracking object is superimposed on the image. Automatic tracking is suspended to change the position of the tracking object in the image by the output position setting unit, and automatic tracking is restarted by outputting a drive signal for driving the camera apparatus to locate the tracked object at the output position.

  • Publication number: 20130314547
Abstract: A controller for a tracking camera for automatically tracking an object by controlling panning/tilting and zooming of an image pickup apparatus mounted on a camera platform includes an object recognition unit that recognizes an object in picked-up image, a setting unit that sets a tracking condition, a memory that stores at least one tracking condition, a readout unit that reads out the tracking condition, and a controller that controls panning/tilting of the platform and zooming of the image pickup apparatus to track the object under the condition, wherein the condition includes an output position in the picked-up image, and a display size of the object in the picked-up image, the setting unit includes an output position setting unit, and a display size setting unit, the memory stores the output position and/or the display size, and the readout unit reads out the output position and/or the display size.

  • Publication number: 20120019664
Abstract: A control apparatus for a camera-monitor system having an auto-tracking function has a mode switcher switching the camera between a normal shooting mode and a tracking mode, a display position selector selecting a display position at which the selected specific object is to be displayed on the monitor screen, and a signal outputting unit outputting a drive signal for driving the auto-tracking camera so that an image of the tracked specific object is displayed at the display position. When the tracking mode is selected by the mode switcher, the signal outputting unit outputs to the camera a drive signal responsive to the amount of operation of the operation part so that the direction of shift of the selected specific object in shifting the selected specific object on the monitor screen coincides with the represented direction during setting performed before the camera starts auto tracking of the selected specific object.

  • Patent number: 7409161
Abstract: A free space optics communication apparatus which can perform stable communication is disclosed. The free space optics communication apparatus has a plurality of light-emitting units each emitting a light beam which forms a generally elliptical irradiation pattern. The plurality of light-emitting units are set such that irradiation patterns of beams from at least two of the plurality of light-emitting units partially overlap at a light-receiving unit of the other apparatus. Further the width of a combined irradiation pattern formed by combining the light beams is 1.5 times or more larger than a width in a shorter diameter direction of an irradiation pattern of a light beam from one light-emitting unit.
