  • Patent number: 8014325
Abstract: In the P-MP wireless data communication via relay stations, a wireless base station forms a communication schedule between the relay station and the relay station and a communication schedule between the relay station and the subscriber station. For each subscriber station (SS), a connected station, an interference at downloading, an interference at uploading, a burst profile between the BS and the SS, and a burst profile between the RS and the SS are registered in an SS management table of the BS. An interference during downloading is generated by allowing each SS to send an identifier of a BS or an RS acting as an interference to a BS to which the SS is connected. An interference during uploading is generated by allowing the BS to capture ranging fixed at the starting time and the like from an SS being under the control of the RS.

  • Patent number: 7877057
Abstract: A wireless communication system, relay station device, and base station device reduce dead zones in which communication with the base station device is not possible, and enable expansion of service areas. The BS transmits to the RS burst packets and MAP messages including information providing notification of the timing of information transmission and reception. The RS receives the MAP messages and burst packets. The RS stores, in the Preamble Present bits in MAP messages, information providing notification of the preamble transmission timing to control synchronization of reception by the SSs, and transmits the MAP messages to the SSs. The RS transmits burst packets to which preambles are appended to the SSs.

  • Patent number: 7872999
Abstract: In a method and a RS (Relay Station) for aggregating service connection identifiers in IEEE 802.16, the RS receives a 1st QoS (Quality of Service) from a 1st MS (Mobile subscriber Station), and stores a 1st SFID/CID (Service Flow Identifier)/CID (Connection Identifier) between a BS (Base Station)-RS corresponding to a 2nd SFID/CID between the RS-MS in table information. The RS receives a DSA-REQ (Dynamic Service Addition Request) including a QoS same as the 1st QoS from a 2nd MS, and sends a DSC-REQ (Dynamic Service Change REQuest) to the BS. Then, the RS receives a DSC-RSP (Dynamic Service Change ReSPonse) from the BS, assigns a 3rd SFID/CID between the RS-MS, and stores a 3rd SFID/CID corresponding to the 1st SFID/CID in the table information. The RS sends a DSA-RSP (Dynamic Service Addition ReSPonse) including 3rd SFID/CID to 2nd MS.

  • Publication number: 20090049519
Abstract: There is provided a terminal that is capable of not sending a useless probe request to detect a stealth access point. The terminal communicates with a normal access point that reports a network identifier and a stealth access point that does not report a network identifier. The terminal includes an access point information accumulating section 103 for accumulating access point information that indicates whether each access point is a normal access point or a stealth access point, a beacon signal detecting section 101 for listening for and detecting a beacon signal, a probe request sending section 105 for sending a probe request, and an access point finding control section 102 for controlling the beacon signal detecting section 101 to detect the beacon signal with respect to the normal access point, and controlling the probe request sending section 105 to send the probe request with respect to the stealth access point.

  • Patent number: 7486928
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for wireless data communications that allows, in P-MP wireless data communications, equally giving communications opportunities to mobile stations that directly communicate with a wireless base station and mobile stations that indirectly communicate therewith via a relay station and a communications method thereof. In comparison with the OFDM frame configuration prescribed in IEEE802.16, an OFDM frame configuration is characterized in that, in an uplink subframe, a ranging period and BW (bandwidth) request periods for a relay station are provided, and furthermore, a remaining message number notice period for which each relay station notifies the wireless base station of the number of remaining messages is provided. These periods are not of a contention base but bandwidths dedicated to the relay station.

  • Publication number: 20080039091
Abstract: In order to continue a communication by performing a handover across or between different communication systems, improvement in redundancy of a communication route and a delay time difference before and after switching the communication system is intended. A bicast entity 21 includes, when a wireless terminal 10 makes a connection and continues a communication across different communication systems 20X and 20Y, bicast means for delivering a packet for each communication route via each of the communication systems 20X and 20Y before and after switching the communication system to which the above described wireless terminal 10 connects, and control means for completing a relay of the packet when the switching of the communication system to which the above described wireless terminal 10 connects is completed.
