  • Patent number: 5980332
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided for detecting a terminal holder's projecting from a connector housing easily. The electrical connector includes a first connector housing, a second connector housing having a hood for receiving the first connector housing, and the terminal holder. The terminal holder is provided with an engagement groove which abuts on the hood when the first connector housing is engaged with the second connector housing by mistake. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the first connector housing having the terminal incompletely inserted therein from engaging with the second connector housing.

  • Patent number: 5969887
Abstract: A structure for holding lenses in which they are inserted into a lens frame in an axial direction thereof for their mounting thereon, and in which a lens that is first inserted into the lens frame is fixed thereto by caulking a part of the lens frame against the lens, so that an enlargement in a radial direction of the lens frame is prevented. The lens frame has three through-holes in a circumferential direction with an equal space therebetween in which the through-holes form around an intermediate position thereof relative to the axial direction, a stepped surface on a first end opposite a second end from which the lens is inserted, and a partial caulking projection which forms inside each hole as a part of the lens frame.

  • Patent number: 5964602
Abstract: A hood assembly attached to a female connector includes slide members on the top and bottom thereof which are slid in a direction perpendicular to a fitting direction of male and female connectors. As a result of a movement of the slide members, guide pins provided on the male connector is guided by guide grooves provided on the slide members to pull the male connector into the hood assembly, thereby fitting the connectors to each other. A hood portion of the female connector is inserted between upper and lower flanges of the hood assembly with anchoring holes provided on the hood assembly and anchoring projections provided on the female connector in positions shifted from each other, and the hood assembly and the female connector are slid in this state into a normal position where the anchoring projections engage the anchoring holes.

  • Patent number: 5915982
Abstract: Slide members 43 are provided on the upper and lower portions of a hood section 27 of a male connector 25 so that the slide members 43 are movable in Y direction orthogonal with X direction in which the male connector 25 is engaged with a female connector 35. Guide grooves which are slanted in mutually opposite directions in the sliding direction are provided on the inner surface side at which the slide members 43 face each other. Guide pins 37a and 37b guided to the guide grooves are provided on the upper and lower portions of the female connector 35. An operation lever 47 which can rotate around rotation supporting pins 57a is provided at one end of the upper and lower slide members 43. Since the upper and lower slide members 43 move in mutually opposite directions by the rotation of the operation lever 47, the female connector 35 is drawn into the hood section 27 of the male connector 25 when the slide members 43 and 45 slide in the mutually opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 5800202
Abstract: A first connector housing has a coupling noticing member slidably mounted therein orthogonally to the connector housing coupling direction. An operating portion is provided in one outward end of the coupling noticing member. An actuating portion is provided in the coupling noticing member and has an inwardly tapered face with a falling gradient, the tapered face being directed oppositely to the connector housing coupling direction. A second connector housing engaging with the first connector housing has a projecting guide piece provided in an opening end of the second connector housing and abutting against the tapered face of the coupling noticing member. An actuating portion inserting recess is opened adjacent to the projecting guide piece in the second connector housing. The first connector housing has a resilient lock arm with a ramped locking protrusion and the second connector housing has a stepped portion abutting against the ramped locking protrusion.

  • Patent number: 5762524
Abstract: A case having a case body, in which a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers are formed in parallel, and an elastic waterproof portion, which is formed integrally with the case body and which has a plurality of wire insertion holes into which covered wires are inserted in a waterproof state is inserted through an opened portion of a connector housing so that the elastic waterproof portion is fitted to the opened portion in a waterproof state. Therefore, when the covered wires are inserted into the wire insertion holes, the projecting portions of the covered wires simply are required to be adjusted to have a predetermined length. Thus, the necessity of furthermore adjusting the projection portion when the solderless connection is established can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5755600
Abstract: A connector housing has a locking member accommodating section having an insertion opening formed in one wall of the connector housing which communicates with terminal accommodating chambers, and an operation opening formed in a bottom wall of the connector housing. The terminal locking member is inserted into the locking member accommodating section through the insertion opening until the terminal locking member is temporarily locked. Thereafter the terminal locking member is pushed so as to be displaced normal to the terminal-locking-member inserting direction and the terminal inserting direction, thus being finally locked, whereby the terminal locking protrusions of the terminal locking member abuts against the shoulders of the terminals to secondarily lock the terminals.

  • Patent number: 5637009
Abstract: In a connector equipped with an engagement detecting member, the engagement detecting member is mounted on male connector housing which allows it to move freely in the direction perpendicular to engagement detection of a pair of male and female connector housings engaged with each other, a driving portion which has an inclined surface extending from an operating portion to a free end portion is provided for the engagement detecting member, the engagement of the connector housing is carried out, while contacting a guide protuberance provided for female connector housing with an inclined surface, it causes the engagement detecting member to project laterally concerning the one side of connector housing.
