When a result of the collation indicates coincidence, allowing the second communicating unit 6, 10 to perform transmitting and receiving operations, thereby transmitting personal information to the vehicle control device.

    Abstract: A three-dimensional image capturing device is provided with a CCD which captures an image of a subject as image data and obtains the distance from the device to a point on a surface of the subject corresponding to each of the image data as distance measurement data. The device obtains the distance to the subject by emitting a light beam to the subject and performing a light emitting operation and electronic shuttering operation of the CCD in tandem. In the operations, each photo-diode in the CCD detects the electric charge signal corresponding to the distance to the subject. The distance measurement data is calculated from the electric charge signal detected by each photo-diode of the CCD. The image data and the distance measurement data are stored in a file or files created in a recording medium so as to maintain correspondence between the image data and the distance measurement data.

    Abstract: A three-dimensional image capturing device comprises a light source and an imaging device, such as a CCD, having a plurality of photo-diodes. The light source outputs a pulsed distance measuring light beam simultaneously with a discharge of unwanted charges from the photo-diodes due to an electric charge discharging signal. A reflected light beam, generated by a measurement subject due to the distance measuring light beam, is received by the photo-diodes. When a predetermined time has elapsed since the output of the distance measuring light beam, an electric charge transfer signal is output so that electric charge, i.e. signal charge accumulated in each of the photo-diodes, is transferred to the vertical transfer unit. The electric charge and the electric charge discharging signal are repeatedly output, so that the signal charge is integrated in the vertical transfer unit.

The threshold values are also stored in memory and are obtained by detecting an optical image formed by a surface having a predetermined color.

In the patch unit, the sets of data lines of the first and second cables are connected. One of the power lines is connected to the first contact, and another of the power lines is connected to the second contact. The first cable connects the patch unit with the peripheral device, and the second cable connects the patch unit with the computer. When power is applied from an external source to the first and second contacts, the power is supplied from the first and second contacts to the peripheral device.
