  • Patent number: 10213900
Abstract: Provided is an abrasive material having a grinding force more appropriate to the purpose of surface finishing. The abrasive material is intended to be used for surface finishing by spraying onto a workpiece, and comprises a plurality of abrasive material particles each comprising a core, a binder, and an abrasive grain layer formed on a surface of the core via the binder, wherein the binder is a mixture of a non-curable adhesive used as a main ingredient to provide tackiness and another agent used to adjust hardness according to a desired surface roughness of the workpiece. The hardness of the binder is adjusted to be higher or lower than that of the non-curable adhesive itself as a main ingredient. The binder may have the property of a cured material or the property of a fluid.

  • Patent number: 9902041
Abstract: An abrasive grain jet grinding device having a belt partially wrapped around an impeller with blades between a shaft-side disc and an open disc and an open peripheral surface between the blades, a nozzle tangential to the disk at the point of separation between the belt and the peripheral surface, wherein the blades held between the shaft-side disc and the open disc are formed from thin plates to finely partition the circumference of the discs, are inclined forward in the direction of rotation of the discs, are provided densely so that multiple adjacent blades overlap each other, and are set with narrow gaps between the blades to form a large number of storage chambers for the abrasive grains.

  • Patent number: 7214126
Abstract: A flexible layer is formed on a surface of a core, and a polishing layer mixed with abrasive particles is formed on a top of the flexible layer. The flexible layer is produced by applying an emulsion adhesive as a flexible layer onto a core and attaching abrasive particles onto the flexible layer, or by applying an emulsion adhesive mixed with abrasive particles onto a core. The flexible layer is then subjected to a heating and drying process. Thus obtained is an abrasive material which is easy to produce, needs no rigorous criteria in the selection of a core, and imparts, to a binder of abrasive particles, flexibility, conventionally required of the core, at no expense of surface finishing performance.

  • Patent number: 6146247
Abstract: Abrasive grains are produced by gluing an abrasive powder to an elastic porous carrier. A number of abrasive grains are mixed with an abrasive liquid, and are then sprayed to the surface of a work at an oblique angle thereto to impact it while allowing the abrasive grains to slide on the surface of a work to finish the surface of the work. Over the distance of travel over which the abrasive grains slide, the surface of the work are ground. The elasticity of the carrier allows the abrasive grains to deform matching the contour of the work. By spraying a number of abrasive grains on the work, grinding action is performed in consideration of the contour even if the work is a complicatedly contoured surface such as a dental prosthesis while a polishing effect is obtained at the same time.
