Publication number: 20050076769Abstract: Since the casing newly developed for the entire valve block of a brasswind instrument is made of resin, the dimensions of all inner movable parts can be increased without increasing substantially the weight of the entire valve block. This additional degree of freedom in design allows for planning and manufacturing of both inner sound channels and switching channels of movable inner parts so that they have a perfectly circular profile and a smooth inner surface. Therefore, by providing an ideal sound channel without increasing the overall weight of the valve block, a considerable improvement in the sound quality of an instrument can be achieved.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2001Publication date: April 14, 2005Inventors: Walter Singer, Lars Stransky, Haruo Kimura

Patent number: 6290398Abstract: At least one of constituent elements of a rolling bearing is formed of a metallic material which contains an alloy element having a strong affinity for nitrogen while being of low grade in terms of cost and characteristics, and has a nitriding layer formed on surfaces thereof to be hardened. Accordingly, it is possible to use such rolling bearing as a substitute for conventional rolling bearings or rolling bearings of high grade which are known as general rolling bearings.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1999Date of Patent: September 18, 2001Assignee: Koyo Seiko Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hideki Fujiwara, Haruo Kimura

Patent number: 5806990Abstract: A pressed cage for a ball bearing is particularly suited for use in severe lubrication conditions. The pressed cage arrangement reduces seizure, holds lubricant for long periods, and thus prolongs the life of the bearing. In the pressed cage arrangement, two annular holding plates include ball holders and flat portions that alternate at regular intervals. The holding plates have a first recess (that may be spherical or semi-elliptic) that has a radius of curvature larger than the ball's radius of curvature. A second, preferably spherical, recess, with a radius of curvature smaller than that of the ball, is formed in the first recess. The ball rotates, being supported only on the boundaries between the first and second recesses, thereby reducing seizure. Spaces formed in the second recess, and spaces between the front portion of the ball and the junction between the holding plates, function as lubricant sumps.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1997Date of Patent: September 15, 1998Assignee: Koyo Seiko Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Ueno, Hideki Fujiwara, Haruo Kimura, Kazuhisa Kajiwara

Patent number: 5774718Abstract: A process action status monitoring section monitors the cumulative CPU time and the idle time for a plurality of processes being executed on a time-sharing basis; those results are recorded in a process action status table. A process type determination section, based on the said cumulative CPU times, classifies those processes for which the cumulative CPU time is equal to or less than a certain threshold value as interactive type process, and classifies processes for which the cumulative CPU time exceeds the threshold value as non-interactive type processes. A non-interactive type process priority control section controls the priorities of processes judged to be non-interactive type processes by the process type judgement section. An interactive type process priority control section controls the priority of processes judged to be interactive type processes.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1995Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Naoto Aoshima, Haruo Kimura, Katsuhito Minai

Patent number: 4931963Abstract: Diagnosis data for respective portions of an apparatus are collected from respective sensors provided on the apparatus at the respective portions thereof and stored in a memory for each of the respective portions. These diagnosis data are the amount of change with time and frequency of occurrence of abnormal operation. The amount of change with time is yielded from the number of treatments for a detection object of each sensor, while the frequency of occurrence of abnormal operations is provided as a ratio of the number of anbormal operations detected by the respective sensors to the number of treatments by the particular object or part involved. The resulting diagnosis data is compared with a predetermined reference value, and when the diagnosis data exceeds the reference value, a prediction alarm flag indicative of a prediction of necessary maintencance to prevent trouble from occuring is added to the diagnosis data and stored in the memory.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1988Date of Patent: June 5, 1990Assignee: Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Haruo Kimura, Minematsu Nobuo, Suto Shin-ichi
