  • Patent number: 5541393
Abstract: A sheet counter system includes a feeding section, a carrying section, a counting section, a stacking section and a control section. When the length of a sheet or the like is less than a length reference value, the control section starts braking of the feeding section when the front end of an n-th sheet (n is a predetermined set value) which has been fed out is detected by the counting section. When the length of the sheet is greater than the length reference value, the control section starts braking of the feeding section when a carrying distance after the front end of the n-th sheet which has been fed out is detected by the counting section reaches a predetermined distance to thereby stop feeding by the feeding section when the counted result of the counting section reaches a predetermined number of sheets. Control can be performed by taking feeding speed into consideration.

  • Patent number: 5388192
Abstract: An image layout processing method for simulating on a display screen an arrangement of a plurality of image objects to be transferred to a prepress mechanical. An image memory plane is divided into a ground area, a key object area, and a display work area. A plurality of objects other than a key object fetched from an external storage are written as priority data to the ground area in an order of priority for superposition of the objects. Data of a selected key object are written to the key object area. The data in the ground area are unconditionally copied to the display work area, while the data in the key object area are copied to a designated position in the display work area with a condition based on a designated priority. Respective pixel data successively read from the display work area are converted by a lookup table into color data to be displayed on a cathode ray tube (CRT) whereby the key object is presented as inserted between desired objects.

  • Patent number: 5119439
Abstract: A partial image section is set as including part of a contour line of a particular image area in an original image appearing on a display screen. An image in the partial image section is binarized by referring to a selected threshold level. A boundary of the resulting binary image is detected for extraction of contour data in the partial image section. A plurality of such partial image sections are set successively in a way to partly overlap each other. Contour data (N2,M2) in an overlapping region of two adjacent partial image sections (Ni,Ni-1) are extracted by obtaining a plurality of dividing points (m.sub.0,n.sub.0,m.sub.1,n.sub.1, etc.
