  • Patent number: 6695451
Abstract: A multi-projection image display device using a plurality of image projectors to form one picture on a screen, in which images projected from the projectors are smoothly connected with one another, so that seams of the images do not appear conspicuously. The image display device has projectors and a screen laid out in such a manner that maximum image projection ranges of the respective projectors overlap the adjacent ranges. An image signal control unit for processing an image signal supplied from an external image input has, therein, a member for cutting out a partial image area dealt with by each projector, an image converting member for performing geometric transformation and local color correction of the partial image, and an arithmetic control member for controlling the image converting member on the basis of image information inputted from a screen state monitor camera.

  • Patent number: 6205862
Abstract: A viscoelasticity measurement instrument having a support whose position can be varied relative to a sample holder for holding an end portion of a sample. A detection rod is resiliently held to the support, and holds a part of the sample. When a DC or AC force is applied to the detection rod, the displacement of the detection rod relative to the support is detected. The position of the support is varied or the DC force is varied to restore the displacement to zero. In this manner, the effect of the elastic constant of the support is eliminated. In one embodiment, a detection rod is support by leaf springs. Negative feedback control is utilized to return deformation of the leaf springs to zero at all times to eliminate the spring constant effect of the leaf springs. Since the average displacement of the leaf springs is zero, the positional relation between the permanent magnet and the coil forming the electromagnetic force generator varies negligibly.

  • Patent number: 6041082
Abstract: Since output voltage e of coupler CU2 is displaced in phase by -135 degrees from input signals c and d (by -270 degrees from signals a and b), a carrier which makes signal f is phase shifted by -270 degrees by phase shifter .phi.1 so that signal f may have the same phase as signal e. Signal f and signal e are power composed by first 3 dB coupler M1, and are further phase shift controlled by variable phase shifters PH11 and PH12 so that they may have the same phase. Further, an output signal of variable phase shifter PH11 is phase shifted by -90 degrees by phase shifter SH1 so that it has a phase difference by 90 degrees from an output signal of variable phase shifter PH2, and the two signals controlled in this manner are inputted to 3 dB coupler M2. Consequently, two signals e and f inputted to the amplifier are all outputted as output voltage EOUT.

  • Patent number: 5764801
Abstract: A method for decoding coded data is executed to use a decoder composed of plural decoding units, those units being parallel processors. The coded data is divided into a first and a second coded areas. A first decoding unit starts to decode the coded data from the head of the first coded area, that is, from the head of the overall coded data. A second processor starts the decoding process from the head of the second coded area, that is, from any location of code sequence from the head. If conflict takes place in the decoded data, the decoding device operates to repeat a trial-and-error operation for re-starting the decoding process from a new location close to the head of the second coded area. When the decoding process of the first decoding unit reaches the second coded area, if a right answer is found in the decoded result given by the second decoding process, it is picked up as the proper result.

  • Patent number: 5325483
Abstract: In an image information retrieval network system having a file station storing a plurality of images to be searched in the form of compressed data by means of coding and at least one terminal station connected to the file station via a transmission line, the file station includes a processor for decoding compressed image data read from an image file to restore an original image, an image processor for processing the restored image data such as extracting a partial area thereof, and a coding processor for data-compressing the processed image data by means of coding. When a user at the terminal station designates a search condition, display mode, and control information for image processing, the file station reads the images satisfying the search condition from the image file, and causes the searched images to be subjected to the image processing designated by the control information. The processed image data are transmitted to the terminal station in the form of compressed data by means of coding.

  • Patent number: 5306087
Abstract: Apparatus for conducting thermogravimetric analysis continuously when sample weights are measured automatically in the case of measurement of a plurality of samples. A plurality of empty sample containers are transferred individually in succession from a tray to a thermobalance, where each container is weighed and a representation of the weight of each empty container is stored in a first memory. Then, a sample is loaded into each container in the tray and the loaded sample containers are transferred individually in succession from the tray to the thermobalance where each loaded container is weighed and a representation of the weight of each container is stored in a second memory. The weight of each sample is then determined based on the difference between the representations stored in the first and second memories.

  • Patent number: 5199083
Abstract: Image data processing method and system for giving area identification labels to individual areas of connected black (or white) elements included in image data are disclosed. Image data compressed by modified READ coding is successively analyzed in units of code word. Each time the image data is analyzed in units of one code word, a run table for storing a relationship between run data indicative of the position of each run and the value of a provisional label given to that run and a label table for storing a relationship between provisional labels to be later unified so as to have the same value are updated, without a wait for the expansion of the whole of the image to bit data, on the basis of a predetermined processing rule defined corresponding to the kind of a code word analyzed. When the processing has been completed for all of code words, the value of a provisional label for each run stored in the run table is corrected on the basis of the contents of the label table.

  • Patent number: 5154085
Abstract: A tension type dynamic viscoelasticity measuring apparatus composed of a strain detector for detecting changes in length of a specimen, an electromagnetic force generator for applying a force to the specimen, a moving mechanism for moving the electromagnetic force generator, a movement control unit for controlling the amount of movement of the moving mechanism, and a monotone function calculation unit for outputting a movement control timing to the movement control unit. The monotone function calculation unit performs a monotone function operation on the data of distance by which the moving mechanism has been moved and uses the calculation result as a movement control timing for the next movement control of the moving mechanism. As a result, this viscoelasticity measuring apparatus has a movement control loop that considers relaxation phenomena in connection with a change in length of the specimen due to stress relaxation and creep that occur in the specimen while driving the moving mechanism.
