  • Patent number: 7903097
Abstract: A coordinate position detecting apparatus includes: a scanning unit that scans a predetermined scanning area in predetermined scanning precision along a horizontal direction and a vertical direction with respect to a display screen by employing detection beams respectively. A position of a light shielding article on the display screen is detected in correspondence with scanning positions of the detection beams which are light-shielded. The scanning unit includes: a drive control unit that switches a plurality of scanning modes having different scanning accuracies from each other; and a moving speed detecting unit that detects a moving speed of the light shielding article. The scanning unit selects a predetermined scanning mode from the plurality of scanning modes in response to the scanning speed detected by the moving speed detecting unit to perform a scanning operation.

  • Patent number: 7205528
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to perform a coordinate position detection not involving detection miss, even if a drawing process frequently involves detection interruptions on a display surface. A method of the invention comprises: performing a scanning in a first scanning area corresponding to the width of the display surface at the time of an initial detection of a shading object; performing, when continuing the detection of the shading object, a scanning in a second scanning area whose scanning region is an area near the latest detection position; performing, after an interruption in the detection of the shading object, a scanning in a third scanning area which is broader than the second scanning area but narrower than the first scanning area, within a predetermined time period and with the detection position of a continued detection serving as reference.

  • Patent number: 7091962
Abstract: There is disclosed an information display apparatus in which a control apparatus main body for controlling a plasma display apparatus for displaying video can disconnectably be connected to a substrate for outputting video data toward the control apparatus main body via a connector. The substrate includes: a RAM and ROM in which information is stored; a video control unit which uses the information to create the video data; and a CPU for controlling the RAM, ROM, and video control unit, the control apparatus main body includes a power source unit for supplying power to the substrate, and the power source unit is connected to the substrate via the connector.

  • Patent number: 5063550
Abstract: A servo control loop for a disc player initially sets an offset value, which is used throughout search and playback to control the gain of an equalizer in the servo loop. The offset value is determined by first moving a pickup head to radially central position of the disc and reading the time code address data recorded at that position. The read address is compared with a calculated, expected address to determine if the two are within a given distance. If they are, the offset is set as a predetermined value, e.g., zero. If they are not within a given distance, the offset is determined one of two ways. Either the difference is used as the offset, or the pickup head is moved to the innermost circumference of the data portion of the disc and the address data read therefrom is used as the offset. During search and playback the offset is subtracted from the continuously read address data, and the difference controls the gain of the equalizer.
