Patent number: 11976904Abstract: A bullet hit detecting target panel which is configured with at least one calibration trace having a resistance that is set, and/or adjusted, to meet the characteristics of the target panel, such as panel type, zone arrangement and resistance characteristics of the conductive layers. When the target is physically and electrically connected to a target controller, then a calibration procedure is entered by applying a conductor to one or more resistive calibration structures on the target panel. Electrical characteristics of the resistive calibration structures are measured, and used for setting a hit threshold for target zones on the target panel. After which the conductor may be removed and the target is ready to accurately register hits based on the established hit threshold.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2021Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: AUTOMATED TARGET SOLUTIONS, INC.Inventors: Brian William Auld, Harvey Albert Shuhart, III

Patent number: 8116489Abstract: A system and method that reduces the perceptual effect resulting from ear occlusion include an electro-acoustic feedback network that produces phase canceling sounds in the ear, where a receiver and a microphone are located. A control mechanism controls the response of the feedback network to minimize distortion in the ear while maintaining a desired frequency response for external signals. Devices producing the external signal include hearing aids, personal sound devices, in ear monitors, communications headsets and hearing protectors. The integration of the above with these devices improves a user's perception of their own voice.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2005Date of Patent: February 14, 2012Assignee: Hearworks Pty LtdInventors: Jorge Patricio Mejia, Harvey Albert Dillon, Michael John Amiel Fisher
