The control includes method and apparatus for governing the application of power to the actuator, such method and apparatus being responsive to a combination of input signals from the throttle and a transmission output speed modified in accordance with thrust developed by the drive wheels and sensed by a device having a flex member connected with the frame of the vehicle and the drive wheel axle housing.
