Abstract: A condom designed for use by females includes an oblong tube formed of a pliant, thin material impervious to spermatozoa and pathogenic organisms, and including a closed distal end. The proximal end is open, and may be provided with a semi-rigid retaining ring secured to the open end to maintain the opening. The proximal portion of the tube is rolled about the retaining ring to reduce the size of the device in a vending package. The invention includes a tampon-like lubricated applicator having a soft, broad tip portion received within the closed distal end, and a tubular handle extending distally therefrom. The applicator is adapted to facilitate vaginal insertion of the condom, with the retaining ring having a sufficient diameter to prevent the proximal end from passing into the vagina.

Abstract: The prosthesis comprises a flexible rod, surrounded along approximately two-thirds of its length by an inflatable balloon, which is implanted centrally within the two corpora cavernosa of the penis and replacing the function of same. To supply fluid to the inflatable balloon there is a reservoir that is implanted within the scrotal sac of the patient. Located in a tube between the reservoir and the balloon portion of the implant is a pinch valve for maintaining the fluid within either the balloon portion or the reservoir under the control of the patient. To effect erection of the penis, the pinch valve is pinched while the reservoir is squeezed, forcing the hydraulic fluid into the balloon portion of the implant. When it is desired to depressurize the implant, the pinch valve is again pinched and the fluid under pressure will then return to the unpressurized reservoir.

Abstract: A dental implant includes a porous ceramic cup or ring filled with silicone rubber which supports an artificial tooth or other prosthetic device such as a denture. The jawbone grows into the porous ceramic to hold the implant firmly in place. The silicone rubber cushions the jawbone from shock caused by multidirectional masticatory forces. A fibrous matting is partially embedded into the upper periphery of the silicone rubber that extends from the ceramic cup or ring. Gingival tissue becomes attached to the matting to form a seal that precludes bacteria from invading and infecting the implant area. In another embodiment, the implant includes a metal sleeve completely filled with and surrounded by silicone rubber. Fibrous matting is partially embedded into the surface of the silicone rubber. Both the jawbone and the gingival tissue adhere to the matting to hold the implant firmly in place and to prevent bacterial invasion.
