  • Publication number: 20060267296
Abstract: A system is provided for use on large vehicles of the type wherein the vehicle frame is supported on vehicle axle assemblies through air bags, and each air bag has a lower end coupled to the lower end of an arm such as a swing arm whose upper end is pivotally mounted on the frame. The height of the air bag is sensed by a pair of tilt sensors, sensing tilt of its location with respect to gravity, and the difference in tilt indicates air bag height. The output of the tilt sensors may be filtered, and a motion detector allows rapid filling or dumping of air bags independent of filtering of tilt sensor signals. Control of the vehicle air suspension can also be based upon inputs from one or more air bag pressure sensors.

  • Publication number: 20050200089
Abstract: A system is provided for use on large vehicles of the type wherein the vehicle frame (12) is supported on vehicle axle assemblies (14, 20, 22) through air bags (26, 30, 32), and each air bag has a lower end coupled to the lower end of an arm such as a swing arm (112) whose upper end is pivotally mounted on the frame. The height of the air bag is sensed by a pair of tilt sensors (50, 52), one on a tilt arm such as the swing arm (112), that has one end pivotally connected to the vehicle frame and an opposite end at least pivotally connected to the vehicle axle assembly. The other sensor senses tilt of the vehicle frame about an axis parallel to the axes of pivoting of the tilt arm. Each tilt sensor senses tilt of its location with respect to gravity, and the difference in tilt indicates air bag height.

  • Patent number: 5224251
Abstract: A system for manufacturing wire harness assemblies is provided. Each wire harness includes a shielded cable having a plurality of insulated conductors therein, with each conductor being terminated at its respective opposed ends and with the terminated ends being mounted in connector housings. The system includes a plurality of pallets that are movable along a conveyor to work stations at which various assembly steps are carried out. A first station is provided for mounting the cables to the pallet, such that the wires at the opposed ends are mounted in fixtures. A second station may selectively deposit drop wires into fixtures on the pallets. A third station trims and strips the ends of the wires and aligns the drop wires with the cable wires. A fourth station sequentially crimps terminals to the ends of the wires, with the pallet being indexable between successive crimps.

  • Patent number: 4918804
Abstract: A modular application tooling machine includes a base unit with a delivery station for electrical connectors, a intermittently operated connector feed drive system and a continuously operated work station drive system. Feed track modules define a connector feed track along which connectors are fed by pusher modules driven by the feed drive system. Work station modules powered on demand by the work station drive system carry out cycles of operation to perform operations on connectors in the feed track. One work station module terminates conductors into insulation displacement terminals of the electrical connectors and another work station module breaks off a carrier strip connected to the terminals.

  • Patent number: 4912823
Abstract: A termination machine for inserting wires into insulation displacement slots of terminals of an electrical connector. During each termination stroke, a connector locating member moves together with the termination blade to precisely position the connector for termination. A wire locator moves together with the termination blade and moves the wire into a guide slot in a template over the connector. When the blade, the wire and the connector are in precise alignment, the termination blade completes the termination stroke. A feed slide and pawl system moves the connector in steps equal to the terminal centerline spacing, and the feed stroke is selectively adjusted to skip voids where terminals are not to be terminated.

  • Patent number: 4790829
Abstract: A reusable injection catheter for use with a medication delivery system comprises a flexible conduit having a fluid path therethrough, a first cannula at the distal end of the conduit for insertion into the patient, a connector housing at the proximal end of the conduit having a passageway therethrough, and a second cannula extending from the housing and in fluid communication therewith. An embodiment of the present invention includes a resilient sleeve covering the second cannula to prevent fluid passage therethrough. This sleeve is adapted to be pierced by the second cannula upon the application of force to the sleeve, thus allowing fluid flow through the second cannula, and further adapted to return to its initial position upon termination of the force.
