  • Patent number: 7756533
Abstract: Methods of providing broadcast media source tuning information to a remote device from a mobile terminal having a local user interface include receiving a user request to transmit tuning information for a selected broadcast media source from a user interface of the mobile terminal and receiving an identification of the remote device that is to receive the tuning information from the user interface of the mobile terminal. The tuning information is formatted based on a protocol for tuning type information providing for automatic tuning of the receiving remote device to the selected broadcast media source and the formatted tuning information is transmitted to the identified remote device responsive to the user request. The broadcast media source may be a radio and/or a television broadcast and the tuning information may be an associated station identification. Mobile terminals and computer program products are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7330737
Abstract: A multi-media cradle adapted to receive a mobile phone comprises a housing and a cradle mounted to the housing for seating the mobile phone. When seated, the multi-media cradle is electrically coupled with the mobile phone via a system bus line. A display is included for viewing text and images originally intended for the mobile phone's display. Similarly, a speaker and microphone is included for reproducing audio input/output of the mobile phone. In addition, a QWERTY type keyboard is included for text and character entry. Data ports allow the multi-media cradle to be coupled with a variety of peripheral devices and removable storage media ports receive removable storage media such that data can be stored, retrieved, and exchanged between a removable storage media and the mobile phone. Also included are one or more short range RF transceivers for exchanging data from the mobile phone with an external device.

  • Publication number: 20060264197
Abstract: A method of determining the power required by a mobile device to download a desired file from a remote source. The method estimates the power needed to download the desired file from the remote source. The method then estimates the remaining power currently available to the mobile device. The two estimates are then compared. The mobile device will display a warning when the estimated power required to download a desired file from the remote source is within a predetermined value to the estimated remaining power currently available to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 6198939
Abstract: A man-machine interface (MMI) help and search tool in association with a menu structure and selection capability is disclosed. According to an exemplary embodiment, the mobile phone and more specifically the MMI are provided with a help search function to instruct the user how to find, activate, or select a desired function of the phone. The user may search for any and all commands regarding a specific subject of interest to the user. The search tool is intelligent and may be used to identify a specific command or function or to conduct a search based on a letter or partial command to provide listings and instructions for any number or series of related commands in a specific subject area. When the user has found the desired command the search tool may be used to explain how the command is accessed and activated and allow the user to automatically go to that menu or execute that command.
