Abstract: Solutions for placing an emergency call over a wireless network improve speed and reliability by prioritizing using an internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) packet data network (PDN) or protocol data unit (PDU) network (PDN/PDU) over domain reselection when a call attempt fails over an emergency PDN/PDU (EPDN/EPDU). Examples include establishing an IMS PDN/PDU session for a user equipment (UE) over a wireless network; attempting, by the UE, an emergency call using an EPDN/EPDU over the wireless network; and based on at least a failure of the emergency call over the EPDN/EPDU, reattempting the emergency call using the IMS PDN/PDU over the wireless network. Based on at least a failure of the emergency call over the IMS PDN/PDU, the UE performs domain reselection and reattempts the emergency call using a second wireless network. In some examples, wireless networks transmit a network policy for handling the emergency call to the UE.

Abstract: Systems and methods herein improve management of voice and text communications to enhance accessibility. A calling preference configuration of a user device serves as the basis for processing communications that are incoming to, or outgoing from, the user device. The communications can be processed according to the configuration of the calling preference before the communications are received by a user of the user device or transmitted to another user device. The calling preference configuration may be configured by the user and include a sending preference, a receiving preference, and/or a language preference.

Abstract: A fifth generation (5G) network can provide Rich Communication Services (RCS) between multiple user equipment (UE) of different device types and/or different operating systems. An RCS server in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) can be used to format data associated with a chat between UEs having different operating systems. The RCS server can initiate, establish, maintain, format, augment, or otherwise determine a rich communication chat message between the UEs over the 5G network.

Abstract: Using residential power lines communication (PLC) as the last hop of the CPRI-based front-haul to the indoor users, where unmodified time division multiplexed (TDM) CPRI hyper-frames are transported in between the outdoor distributed unit (DU) and the indoor radio unit (RU) transparently. To countermeasure the hostile environment of power lines, proposed is a novel device, called CPRI-PLC-Gateway (CPG), which serves as an agent for creating a virtual CPRI link between the DU and RU. The proposed CPG aims to meet the desired CPRI options in the presence of the noisy PLC channel while remaining completely transparent to the CPRI protocol operation.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for analyzing conformity to restrictions on the use of a wireless communication device to allow a user to make application usage decisions based on cost and application performance. In a particular embodiment, a method provides identifying restrictions on the use of a wireless communication device having applications available to the wireless communication device. The method further provides identifying a first application of the applications available to the wireless communication device that uses resources of a wireless communication network. The method further provides determining a first measure of conformity by the first application to the restrictions on the use of the wireless communication device and generating an instruction to display to a user an indication of the first measure of conformity by the first application to the restrictions on the use of the wireless communication device.

Abstract: The invention is directed to methods and systems for managing internet protocol (IP) addresses. In particular, the invention provides an approach to reuse IP address among multiple devices by combining the IP address and a unique code. By including a unique code, each mobile device using the same IP address is still easily identified. Further, the invention allows for reusing IP addresses within a single telecommunications sector such that devices in the same area may use the same IP address.

Abstract: A system and method for intelligently managing wireless congestion in a wireless telecommunications network is provided. An ad-hoc device relay is built to communicate data from a mobile device in a congested coverage area to a base station in an uncongested coverage area. Embodiments of the invention optimize the relay through careful device selection and management.
