  • Patent number: 6936779
Abstract: A bypass switch recloser assembly has a first switch assembly connected electrically in series to a second switch assembly. A bypass switch assembly is connected electrically in parallel to the first and second switch assemblies. A recloser assembly is connected electrically in series to the first and second switch assemblies and electrically in parallel to the bypass switch assembly. The first, second and bypass switch assemblies and the recloser are mounted on a support assembly. The support assembly mounts the bypass switch recloser assembly to a support.

  • Patent number: 6014306
Abstract: An electrical device has a housing with an internal cavity lined with insulating material. An electrical component is mounted in the cavity between the opposite ends of the housing. An electrically conductive probe is mounted in the cavity at one housing end. An end connector is mounted in the cavity at another housing end. The electrical component is electrically connected to the end connector and to the probe. The electrical component connection to the probe includes wedge insert engaging the component inner end and engaging an inner surface of the lining of insulating material to form a seal between them. Gas generated by the electrical component will not flow past the wedge insert in the direction of the probe.

  • Patent number: 5015810
Abstract: An arc spinner interrupter includes a first fixed electrical contact and a ring electrode coupled to the fixed contact through a field coil surrounding the ring electrode. A second electrical contact has an arm which moves along a path perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis for selective connection with the fixed contact. The arm may have a generally L-shaped configuration including an angled portion that extends in a direction parallel to the central longitudinal axis and a conductor extends toward the angled portion through the ring electrode along the central longitudinal axis. The conductor has an inner axial end that is spaced slightly from the angled portion of the arm when the arm is moved to a position intersecting the central longitudinal axis so that a grading function is carried out on the electrostatic field surrounding the angled portion of the arm. This grading function serves to limit the stress exerted by the electrostatic field adjacent the angled portion of the arm section.

  • Patent number: 4352139
Abstract: A gapless arrestor assembly for a high voltage bushing including an insulating elastomeric housing having a bore formed in one portion thereof and a receptacle formed in another portion thereof and a surge arrester assembly positioned in the bore in said housing, the arrester assembly being formed from one or more surge arrester blocks and including a connector element at the inner end of the arrester blocks, the connector element being movably connected to the surge arrester blocks and a probe contact positioned in the receptacle and rigidly connected to the connector element, the connector element allowing movement of the probe contact independent of the arrester blocks.

  • Patent number: 4032205
Abstract: A ground contact adaptor for a high voltage cable having a metallic tape shield, the adaptor including a contact sleeve assembly having an electrically conductive band connected to a copper braid partially embedded within a conducting rubber contact sleeve and extending outwardly therefrom to form a ground contact, a spring biasing the band into electrical engagement with the metallic tape shield of the high voltage cable and a conducting rubber sleeve sealingly engaging the contact sleeve and cable insulation to form a water-tight seal around the band.
