  • Patent number: 4792188
Abstract: A swivel seat for a vehicle is provided with latch means which prevents the front and rear edges of the seat from being raised so as to prevent distortion of the pivot axle, the locking means and/or roller or rollers. The latch means can be actuated to its effective position, in which it prevents lift of the front or rear edge of the seat when the seat is in its normal position. Preferably, the seat also has means cooperating with rollers and a pivot axle for supporting components rotatable relative to the stationary component. The supporting means serves to hold the movable component essentially parallel to the stationary component so as to reduce the load on the rollers and the pivot axle while allowing smooth pivotal movement of the movable component relative to the stationary component.

  • Patent number: 4765680
Abstract: A seat reclining device comprises a base plate which is fixed to the seat cushion side; an arm plate which is rotatably attached to the said base plate and is also fixed to the seat back side; a pair of upper plates, each having meshing teeth which extend over a certain area, which are fixed to the arm plate through the same shaft; a pair of lower pawls, each having meshing teeth which can engage to the meshing teeth on the upper plates without interfering with each other, and which are supported on the base plate and coaxially provided; a cam plate which is associated with said lower pawl placed in engagement and can rotate so as to hold the pawl in control or to release it. A release control section is coupled to the said cam plate to control its action so as to either hold the said cam plate in control or release it; such that the pitches of the respective meshing teeth of the said upper plates are mutually displaced by 1/2 tooth.

  • Patent number: 4660795
Abstract: A seat slider device for an automotive seat is specially configured to minimize its height. An upper rail fixed to the bottom of the seat slidably engages a lower rail fixed to the floor. The rails have flanges along one edge which engage via a bearing. A plurality of regularly spaced holes are formed in the other edge of the lower rail. A lock lever mounted on the upper rail is manually actuable into and out of engagement with the holes in the lower rail, in which former case, the upper rail and the seat are held securely in place relative to the lower rail and the floor. Since the bearing and the locking holes are on opposite sides of the lower rail, they are free to lie in the same horizontal plane.

  • Patent number: 4326616
Abstract: A clutch actuation system for a vehicle, comprises a first assembly adapted to be driven from a stop position by an actuating force, and a second assembly, which is driven by the first assembly, and drives in a certain direction a driven member which moves in such a way that a first part of its travel is accomplished against a relatively weak resisting force, and a following part of its travel is accomplished against a relatively strong restoring force. A clearance adjuster comprises means for biasing the first and second assemblies with respect to one another in such a direction as, if the first assembly remains in its stop position, to drive the driven member in said certain direction with biasing force strong enough to overcome said relatively weak resisting force but not strong enough to overcome said relatively strong restoring force, and means for locking the position of said first assembly with respect to said second assembly when said first assembly is moved off its stop position.
