Abstract: An apparatus for outputting standard definition (SD) and high-definition (HD) analog signals as high-definition (HD) video according to copy protection is disclosed. The apparatus includes: a determination block, for receiving a specific signal and determining whether the received specific signal has copy protection; and a scaling block, coupled to the determination block, for selectively scaling the received specific signal according to at least a copy protection determination result generated by the determination block.

Abstract: A portable player, a power management apparatus, and a power management algorithm thereof are provided. The portable player comprises a plurality of functional blocks, a power management apparatus, and a display apparatus. The plurality of functional blocks are configured to complete a task. The power management apparatus comprises a sensor, a retrieval unit, and an adjuster. The sensor senses a power supplement status of the portable player. The retrieval unit retrieves a power consumption status of the task. The adjuster adjusts at least one of the plurality of functional blocks to complete the task according to the power supplement status and the power consumption status. The display apparatus displays the task.

Abstract: A constant-frequency active filter controlled by a peak current control mode, the constant-frequency active filter composes of a voltage step-up unit and a power factor corrector, wherein the power factor corrector is composed of a voltage control loop and a current control loop. The voltage step-up unit adjusts a waveform of an input current to a sine waveform. The voltage control loop has a microprocessor that provides a current command having the same phase with an input voltage to a PWM controller of the current control loop. The current control loop provides a sensing current induced from the input current to the PWM controller. The PWM controller receives the sensing current and the current command to control the input voltage and the input current to become the same phase so as to obtain a high power factor.
