Abstract: Bulk dyeing of plastics using dyestuffs of the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein n denotes 1 or 2, preferably 1,R.sub.o for n=1, denotes aryl, hetaryl or heterocyclylidenemethyl, or for n=2, denotes a direct bond or arylene andthe ring A is unsubstituted or substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.8 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyloxy, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryloxy, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryl- or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylsulphonyl, cyano, halogen, in particular chlorine or bromine, or a radical of the formula --COR.sub.1, wherein R.sub.1 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, amino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylamino, di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylamino, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -arylamino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryl, or contains a fused-on aromatic or cycloaliphatic ring,the plastics used being, in particular, thermoplastics, preferably vinyl polymers, polyesters or polyamides.

Abstract: The title compounds of the formula ##STR1## can be prepared by cyclization of aminomethylenated 2-pentenoic acid derivatives of the formula ##STR2## where R, X, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and Z have the meaning given in the description,in the presence of acids or ammonia. Preferably, aminomethylenated pentenoic acid derivatives are employed which can be prepared from pentenoic acid derivatives of the formulaR--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH--Z (III)orR--CH.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH--CH.sub.2 --Z (IV)with ortho-amides of the formula ##STR3## The meanings of A and B are also given in the description.

Abstract: Cationic 1,3,4-thiadiazole dyestuffs of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R denotes hydrogen or an alkyl, alkenyl, acyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, arylamino, aralkylamino or heterocyclic radical andR.sub.1 denotes hydrogen or an alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl radical, orR and R.sub.1 are linked to form a heterocyclic ring, with the condition that if R denotes aryl, R.sub.1 cannot be hydrogen.R.sub.2 denotes an alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl or aralkyl radical,K denotes a radical of a coupling component and An.sup.(-) denotes an anion,are suitable for the dyeing and printing of natural and synthetic materials, in particular of polyacrylnitrile and acid-modified polyesters and polyamides.
