  • Publication number: 20140084508
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing a fibre composite component, comprising: arranging a first and a second mould in relation to one another in such a way that these together form a first cavity; laying a fibre material on the first and/or second mould; filling the formed first cavity with a casting material and solidifying said casting material in order to seal the first and the second mould to one another and/or interconnect them; and infiltrating the fibre material with a matrix and curing said matrix to form the fibre composite component.

  • Publication number: 20140053936
Abstract: An infusion method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced composite component. The composite component is evacuated and at least two separated flow fronts of matrix material are spread out in the composite component. At least one of the flow fronts is decelerated and/or guided in respect to its flow directing relative to the other flow front by a control element that is incorporated in a component area of the composite component. Also disclosed is a structure for performing such infusion method wherein the control element is arranged between the construction components, wherein in at least one component area a control element is incorporated in the composite component for decelerating at least one flow front and/or guiding a flow front in respect to its flow directing relative to another flow front through the composite component.

  • Publication number: 20130330832
Abstract: A material for use in vacuum bagging a component. The material includes a compound sensitive to moisture, such that an exposure of the compound to moisture or wetting causes a physical and/or chemical change in the compound that is visually detectable in the cover material. A method of leak detection during vacuum bagging involves the steps of: arranging a component in a vacuum bagging assembly, such as to form a fibre-reinforced plastic component; arranging a material according to the invention in the vacuum bagging assembly such that the compound sensitive to wetting or moisture is under, or on an inner side of, a sealing film or vacuum bag of the assembly; applying a vacuum to the vacuum bagging assembly to evacuate a space containing the component and sealed by the sealing film or vacuum bag; and wetting an outer surface of the sealing film or vacuum bag.

  • Patent number: 8512620
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a component from a composite-fiber-material semifinished product includes providing a forming support having a contour including at least one section corresponding to a surface of the manufactured component. The semifinished product is placed onto the forming support and the semifinished product is formed such that the semifinished product contacts the forming support. Further, a device form manufacturing component includes the forming support having the contour including at least one section corresponding to the surface of the manufacture component.

  • Publication number: 20110156305
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a fiber composite component having an integral structural design includes positioning a sheet-like fibrous semi-finished product in a mold that defines an outer contour of the fiber composite component. Dimensionally stable fibrous semi-finished products, each having dimensions corresponding to a respective portion of the manufactured fiber composite component, are arranged on the sheet-like fibrous semi-finished product. The dimensionally stable fibrous semi-finished products are stabilized and fixed in place using mold cores. The semi-finished products are resin infiltrated using one of a first or a second gating process so as to form a construct. The first gating process includes gating via the mold cores at a head of each dimensionally stable fibrous semi-finished product and performing extraction in an area of the mold.
