  • Patent number: 8625131
Abstract: A problem that it is difficult to associate a log of processing executed in a web browser of an image forming apparatus with a log of processing executed in a web application server, and thus it is difficult to track the logs as a series of processing logs. The image processing apparatus receives an execution request of a function of the image forming apparatus and obtains identification information for a log of processing executed in the server apparatus in response to the received execution request of the function. The image forming apparatus stores a log of processing in the image forming apparatus related to the processing in the server apparatus corresponding to the obtained identification information, in association with the obtained identification information.

  • Patent number: 8560620
Abstract: An e-mail message to which a document is attached is received, and it is determined whether or not a digital signature is appended to the e-mail message. The document attached to the e-mail message is saved as an approved document, which is approved for printing, when it is determined that the digital signature is appended to the e-mail message. On the other hand, the document attached to the e-mail message is saved as a non-approved document, which is not approved for printing, in association with an e-mail address of the e-mail message when it is determined that the digital signature is not appended to the e-mail message. User information is acquired, and the non-approved document saved in association with an e-mail address that is associated in advance with the user information is retrieved. The retrieved non-approved document is changed to an approved document, and that approved document is saved.

  • Patent number: 8553254
Abstract: Monitoring of a large number (for example, hundreds) of printing devices in parallel makes a processing load very heavy. Or, the monitoring extremely increases the cost of a monitoring computer. A connection-managing unit sequentially monitors the states of printing devices within the number of connections less than the number of printing devices. Meanwhile, a transfer-managing unit sequentially transfers printing jobs to the printing devices within the number of connections less than the number of printing devices. The state-monitored printing devices are sequentially switched without synchronizing the state monitoring of the printing devices with the end of the transfer of the printing jobs, i.e., without waiting for the end of the transfer of the printing jobs.

  • Publication number: 20120331539
Abstract: In order to prevent leakage of data possessed by a tenant to other tenants in multitenant service, it is necessary to control access. However, the conventional access control method is designed and developed to meet a specified request. Thus, costs for a dedicated design, development, administration, and maintenance need to be considered. Such costs can be reduced by using role information for each of a plurality of services and determining whether to allow or not allow access in a uniform manner.

  • Patent number: 8321415
Abstract: An inspection server receives a search condition for print logs accumulated in a print log database from an inspection client PC, and an associated log setting for associating print jobs searched based on the search condition with logs managed by a log management server. The inspection server obtains a search result for a search request from an archive server, and further obtains a number of hits for the search request for associated logs based on an associated log setting from a log collection server. Based on the search result and the number of hits, the inspection server controls a display mode of print logs contained in the search result.
