  • Publication number: 20190269570
Abstract: A massage system for a bed having a mattress comprises a massage controller adapted to control at least one massage actuator acting on the mattress. The massage controller is adapted, in a calibration mode of operation, to drive the at least one massage actuator with a test signal for excitation of the mattress, to receive measured values which represent a response of the mattress to the excitation with the test signal, and to determine, on the basis of the measured values and the test signal, a response characteristic represented by an oscillation response of the massage actuator and the mattress. In addition, the massage controller is adapted to control, in a massage mode of operation, the at least one massage actuator based on an adjustable massage parameter and the oscillation response.

  • Patent number: 9867470
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuator assembly for an adjustable seating or lying furniture item, in particular for an adjustable bed or an adjustable comfortable armchair, comprising a spindle that can be activated by means of a drive for causing axial rotation, which is mounted in a stationary manner. The actuator assembly also comprises a sliding block mechanically coupled with the spindle, the sliding block can be moved parallel in relation to a longitudinal axis of the spindle when said spindle is activated. The actuator assembly also comprises a coupling element mounted in a manner allowing it to be moved in relation to the spindle with a first slotted guide, in which the sliding block is at least partially guided in such a way that the coupling element is shifted when the spindle is activated, in order to move a segment of the adjustable seating or lying furniture item that can be mechanically coupled with the coupling element.

  • Publication number: 20140345059
Abstract: An arrangement (AO) for adjusting a bed, particularly a head section and foot section of the bed, features a stationary frame segment (OR) and a movable frame segment (BR) with a first section (AS1), a second section (AS2) and a third section (AS3). The three sections (AS1, AS2, AS3) are pivotably connected to one another and the first section (AS1) is supported such that it can be slid relative to the stationary frame segment (OR) in a horizontal plane (HE). The arrangement (AO) features a first linear actuator (LA1) and a second linear actuator (LA2) that, on the one hand, are fixed on the first section (AS1) in an essentially rigid fashion in a common first hinge point (GP1) and, on the other hand, are respectively supported on the stationary frame segment (OR) in a horizontally slidable fashion such that the effective directions of both linear actuators (LA1, LA2) essentially extend in another common horizontal plane, particularly parallel to one another.
