    Abstract: Human polyclonal immunoglobulin M may be administered to patients suffering from a variety of immune-mediated diseases, including asthma, Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Systemic Lupus Erythmatosus (SLE), serum sickness and vasculitis, to treat the disease condition of those patients. Administration of immunoglobulin M results in a direct inhibitory effect on complement activity and a significant clinical improvement in the level of disease activity in patients with immune-mediated diseases.
