  • Publication number: 20170140645
Abstract: An automated computerized system comprises a computer system executing traffic monitoring software. The traffic monitoring software reads data corresponding to a magnetic field of a first vehicle collected by a first node. The traffic monitoring software may determine a unique magnetic signature for the first vehicle from the data collected by the first node, and correlate the first vehicle using the magnetic signature to a predefined vehicle class. The predefined vehicle class may group vehicles by structural similarity.

  • Publication number: 20130315604
Abstract: The system provides a mobile, full bi-directional, free-space optical (FSO) network providing networkability and internet connectivity. Each mobile system has a FSO transceiver communicating via line-of-sight (LOS) with a stationary FSO transceiver. Alternatively, the mobile system communicates with a relay FSO transceiver that is in contact with another relay and/or a stationary FSO transceiver. The system has diversity of wavelengths through a multi- wavelength system operating predominately in the infrared spectrum. The network is directionally constrained by the optical components to reduce interference with other networks. Pointing, acquisition, and tracking (PAT) of the network optical signal generator and receivers assists optical performance.

  • Publication number: 20070276600
Abstract: A system for detecting a collision in an intersection. The system includes a plurality of vehicle detection sensors, a base station and a warning signal apparatus. The plurality of vehicle detection sensors are positioned preceding the intersection for detecting and transmitting velocity and position data of at least two vehicles. The base station is for receiving the velocity and position data of the vehicles so as to process the velocity and position data of the vehicles to determine the probability of the vehicles colliding. The base station transmits a warning signal when the probability exceeds a threshold. The warning signal apparatus is positioned preceding the intersection. The warning signal receives the warning signal from the base station to alert a driver of one of the vehicles of an imminent collision.
